It's refreshing to watch an unboxing where the presenter has a rich vocabulary and knowledge of the subject to bring it to life. And it becomes more than just an 'unboxing'.
    Great stuff!

Hawkwind's Simon House playing violin on Low, Heroes and Lodger tours.... as recorded on 'Stage' and of course on 'Lodger'... "Cooool". I did the pilgrimage to Berlin from my Fine Art Degree with tutor, painter Jock McFadyen (show about to open at Royal academy London, check it out) it felt highly claustrophobic within the wall and barbed wire at that time!

I loved mainstream Bowie for years before I started in on his foundational and even first works, and man I’m glad I did that. When I got to “Low” I was amazed and wished I started sooner. 33 1/3 books has an edition on “Low” have you read it?

Yes, it's not bad. I generally dislike the 33 and 1/3 books as I think their idea of what a 'cult album' is is often too slavish and trendy, but that's a good one. 'Low' was one of my first Bowie albums (although I was aware of him as a kid in the early 70s, I didn't start getting the records until 77) alongside 'Station To Station' and 'Ziggy'- I bought those three LPs at the same time and played them constantly for six months. I don't think anyone did more to popularise avant-garde art ideas than Bowie and I'm eternally grateful to him for this.

Such a wonderful album, I must get this. I'm slowly finding my preferred issues of everything from The Man Who Sold The World to Ashes To Ashes. For myself and many others the peak years, I'd say the same is true of Hawkwind for the same time period.

Low profile. Hiding away in Berlin with Iggy. His greatest love, 'Be my wife', say's it all.

Hadn't considered the real Berlin trilogy being Station/Low/Heroes, but, you're right, Lodger is an outlier; not just because it was mainly recorded in Switzerland, but also that there isn't a single track directly influenced by the city. (Pretty much everywhere else on the planet tho' . . .LOL).

I also think 'Lodger' is a minor album compared to its three predecessors, despite loving many of the tracks. Never been a huge fan of its sound and "Red Money" and "Repetition" are weak songs for 70s DB. It's well known that at this point the musicians were getting fed up with Eno's experimental approach- when you have people like Belew and House onboard after an amazing super-chops tour, just let them play!

There is no topping the book for enjoyment ( the opinion of a bias reader over movie watcher lol ) . Have you ever listern to Cerrones ' Suppernature' ?
