Respectfully, various sentences were phrased in a manner that allows for more than one correct verb-tense answer.
    Question:
#1: Answer A, simple past, also correct.
#2: Answers A and B also gramstically correct.
#4: Answer B also correct. Merely another way of saying "When I
    arrived, they were eating dinner."
#5: Answer D, simple past, also correct.
#8, #9: All offered answers are grammatically correct.
#10: All answers are grammatically incorrect. The correct phrasing is:
"The package was delivered to the wrong address."
    #11: All answers are correct.
    #13: Answer B also.
    #14, #16, #17: All answers are correct.
    #21: Answers A, C also correct.
    #25: Answers C, D also correct

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to thoroughly review our grammar quiz and provide such detailed feedback! We truly appreciate your engagement and expertise.
You've raised an excellent point regarding the potential for multiple correct verb-tense answers in certain questions. This highlights the complexity and nuance of the English language, where context and intended meaning can influence grammatical choices.
Thank you, Mike! Your detailed explanations for questions 1-5. They perfectly capture the intricacies of English grammar.
1 Grammar Rule: Present Simple Tense (Third Person Singular)
Companies are considered singular entities, and "has" is the correct verb form for third-person singular in the present simple tense.
2 Grammar Rule: Future Simple Tense
The sentence describes a future event, and "will start" is the correct verb form to express future action.
3 Grammar Rule: Third Conditional (if + past perfect, would have + past participle) to describe an unreal past condition and its hypothetical outcome.
4 Grammar Rule: Past Perfect Tense (had + past participle) to describe an action that occurred before another action in the past.
5 Grammar Rule: Present Passive Voice (is/am/are + past participle) to describe a state or condition.
Your expertise shines through! We appreciate your engagement and commitment to our grammar community. @Mike Kurtz!
please reply back for more answers.

@@EnglishTestsPhilosophyLogicFalThank you so much for your informative comments. It seems like in at least case I was apparently relying too much on informal practice rather than on formal guidance -- specifically regarding future simple tense. The citation I found, I trust, provided the explanation: "While 'will' and 'shall' are the most common auxiliary verbs used to form the future simple tense, they may not always be necessary. In informal English, you can often omit 'will' or 'shall' and simply use the base verb to indicate future actions.
For example, 'I eat dinner tonight,' or 'she arrives tomorrow.' " Source AI Overview. The operative phrase is of course "in informal English," and since the goal of these on-line grammar tests is to provide the formal rule, I agree that your correction was entirely valid.
