Elvis had the rarest of relationships with his fans. We were like one big family. Todays entertainers could take a few lessons from Elvis. He never turned a fan away, ever ! He gave us an entertainment experience unlike anything that had ever been seen before or since ! He poured out his soul to his fans and even as his looks started to fail him , he still walked out on that stage because he knew the fans would NEVER judge him ! We loved him unconditionally. I can only hope that somehow he knows just how much he is still loved and missed by all of us. When he died a piece of each and every one of us died with him !
I can't understand how this song wasn't a staple in live show set list. And as far as I know Elvis never sang "If I Can Dream" in a concert. Head scratching.
The only entertainer who has ever lived who is as popular , if not more , almost 40 years after his death as when he was alive ! If that isn't the absolute definition of talent and sheer staying power I don't know what is ! He didn't die , only his body did !!
There are many ETA's out there that are great but everyone lacks something. There will only EVER be 1 Elvis. The good lord bless us with being able to hear and see the king. Long live the music and majic of Elvis Presley. TCB
@@richardwhite1343 Good point, well spotted!😆🙄Seriously, saying "There will never be another even remotely like him" isn't the same as saying "there will never be another Elvis". Not even remotely.
Elvis presley you still give me goosebumps when you sing my god what a voice and a beautiful man love elvis forever x ☓ 💜 ❤️ 2019 still listening x always be
Hearing Elvis live and in person was the best concert I ever seen and heard....He was the total package....voice, stage presents, and the ability to mesmerize his audience with his personality and he wasn't bad to look at either...
Talking about perfection... if you listen to some of his bloopers even his mistakes were perfect ! It was always funny when he did mess up and he always let the audience in on what went wrong if they didn't catch it. Honestly, he could have just stood there for an hour reading the phone book and I don't think anyone would have cared !
I was only 6 when Elvis died but I remember my mother and her sister crying that day when the news came. I always loved his music. Kentucky Rain was probably my favorite. Just something about the song and the way he would sing it was simply musical perfection.
Seven lonely days And a dozen towns ago I reached out one night And you were gone Don't know why you'd run, What you're running to or from All I know is I want to bring you home So I'm walking in the rain, Thumbing for a ride On this lonely Kentucky backroad I've loved you much too long And my love's too strong To let you go, never knowing What went wrong Kentucky rain keeps pouring down And up ahead's another town That I'll go walking thru With the rain in my shoes, Searchin for you In the cold Kentucky rain, In the cold Kentucky rain Showed your photograph To some old gray bearded man Sitting on a bench Outside a gen'ral store They said "Yes, she's been here" But their memory wasn't clear Was it yesterday, No, wait the day before So I fin'ly got a ride With a preacher man who asked "Where you bound on such a dark afternoon?" As we drove on thru the rain As he listened I explained And he left me with a prayer That I'd find you
Finally someone mentioned the art of the song itself, not who delivered it. Elvis was great but my draw has always been , "Who wrote that masterpiece? "
Damn, this is AWESOME! He's from my mom's generation (and one of her favorites), but real talent is timeless. Too bad I was just a little kid during his last tour. I would've loved to see him live.
Elvis is the only entertainer who has ever lived whose music is so vast that you can stumble across new versions of songs 40 years after they were recorded ! When did the man sleep ?! I have listened to him for my entire 54 years and saw him live in March of 74. I have spent what has to be several hundred hours now on you tube and I still come across material I did not know he did ! The man was super human with a magic that will never ever be duplicated EVER ! We are all better for having known the man and his music. We are definitely a blessed generation for having the pleasure of experiencing his presence .
I think I speak for all Elvis fans when I say that when he died , a piece of each and every one of us died with him. We love you E and man do we miss you !!
I could not have said it better myself. Some people just do not understand what we felt for this man. It goes beyond his looks, his style, his music..There was something INSIDE this man that drew us near to him & when he died it was like the world came crashing down. I cried for 2 weeks & my family thought i was nuts. But it was like losing a family member and I grieved very hard for Elvis. I miss him....
***** Thank you Deanna for sharing your thoughts on Elvis..my family thought i was nuts and it was embarrassing because my tears i could not stop from flowing..but most of them are dead themselves now..lol..I'm bad
When you see Elvis live, that’s the supernatural coming out of him. Only the lord could have made him so great. He was the the difference between mortals and immortals. He was always beyond human even in his decline.
I had a chance to see him in Vegas 1975 I passed it up to see Sinatra. Sinatra had announced his engagement to Barbara Marx & it was to be a special night & it was. Sinatra celebrated in the Ceasars Palace casino & I saw the whole party. Now I know I should have gone to see Elvis at the International Hotel.
I'm 54 and been listening to music since I was able to hear as mom always had the radio on and let me say there are many great talented artist and many here today gone tomorrow talent but to this day no one can beat Elvis and the influence he had in music period...he is the king forever!!!
Love this song so much and love him and his unique voice that impersonators just cannot replicate, that's why when you hear someone who.claims to be him, you only need to find an authentic recording such as this and listen and you will hear the difference! This particular song makes me very emotional, i was too young to appreciate Elvis in his time, but now I long to have been able to see him live. He was very special indeed, I so wish it to be true that he is still with us!
Elvis Presley's last performance in Kentucky was at June 1977 at the Freedom Hall Arena on Crittenden Drive. He stayed at the now demolished Executive Inn Hotel. Right across the street now. It's a parking lot for 'Louder Than Life ' concert.
Will forever love Elvis and the lessons he teaches about life through his songs,o hope there are people out there that would be continue to play his music and keep him and the dream he was so afraid of dying alive forever,I never got to meet him ,but I feel from somewhere in the heavens ,he has spoken to my heart and made me feel like we've been friends my whole life,I hold him and his music close to my heart and will pass it down through put the years to come,Thank You Elvis for impacting my life,I will forever Honor you!
Elvis was just amazing. A true entertainer. His voice was magical and he was just so handsome. I love listening to him and wish their were other concerts to watch, I own them all and have them on my IPad and still watch them all the time. No other artist will be remember 35 years after they die.....Elvis was IT....
There will be people who come along in life that are good, and even great. We have saw it. Never again will anyone do what this man did... He is on a level by himself and it will remain for eternity... We love you EP!!!!
to sing this is hard to do, I can tell you this.... we tried it and we had the idea that we did pretty well.... after we listen to the tape we recorded we had to admit.... Elvis is the only one who can do this song like it has to be done, you have no idea what a great singer Elvis was, his death is a huge lost for us. Elvis is the only entertainer who can do this, everybody who tries like we did will find out you ain't come even close to the King !!!
Think his voice got better with age. Suspicious Minds and the 1968 special on, I think his voice got better and more mature, even if the quality of his music went way downhill.
The greatest singer who ever walked this earth
Who in their right mind would give this a thumbs down!!!!!!!!!
Assholes
Passing the time during this lockdown in Italy listening to the greatest singer who ever lived
Why not? 👏👏👏
Elvis had the rarest of relationships with his fans. We were like one big family. Todays entertainers could take a few lessons from Elvis. He never turned a fan away, ever ! What a fine tribute, he was the best no doubt 👍👍
thanks for the personal testimony.....i can only imagine!
Tears rolling down my cheeks. Long live the king
Kentucky Rain was rarely on the set list, so it is a real treat to hear a good concert version of it.
He hardy had a relationship with his fans
He was only competing with himself. No one is or will ever get close to accomplishing or be loved by as many fans as Elvis. Period.
I can't understand how this song wasn't a staple in live show set list. And as far as I know Elvis never sang "If I Can Dream" in a concert. Head scratching.
Staggeringly brilliant! My God, he was so special.
Never get tired of listening to this.
Return to sender teddy bear don't be cruel Kentucky rain etc all magnificent tunes

Never ever... it's perfect🕺

I grew up in the 80's and 90's and used to laugh when my mom talked about elvis, now that I'm older I'm like wow now that was a singer.....
The only entertainer who has ever lived who is as popular , if not more , almost 40 years after his death as when he was alive ! If that isn't the absolute definition of talent and sheer staying power I don't know what is ! He didn't die , only his body did !!
I came after 45 years gone today to bring back some great memories
Here on , 10- 30- 22.
He needed much needed rest.
Here to second that 45 yrs. later on 12/22/2022. ⚡️TCB💫
I would loved to have seen him grow old. 😢
His voice was pure magic and there will never be another Elvis Presley ever again..
Their is Elvis and then their is everyone else
I'm just glad I was alive for 15 yrs when he was. My mom was a big fan. I'm 60 now. I really miss him.
There are many ETA's out there that are great but everyone lacks something. There will only EVER be 1 Elvis. The good lord bless us with being able to hear and see the king. Long live the music and majic of Elvis Presley. TCB
This is my absolute favorite of all of Elvis’s songs! Beautiful song!
I agree!
and ...... Don't cry Daddy.....
Mine too.
Agree...by far his best in my opinion
He was magic. Pure and simple. There will never another even remotely like him. But then again....there's not supposed to be.
Absolutely correct."The King of Music"
Im not a big Elvis fan...but he rules..
you are right!
There will never be another anyone

Uh, I would say the most good looking man ever walked on earth
I agree!
I love this song and i here it so many times a day, elvis wa beautiful.
The one and only king of music this man is still no 1 in the world !!!
there have been A LOT of GREATS, but NOBODY can beat THE KING
NOBODY WILL EVER TOUCH THIS MANS INCREDIBLE VOICE ....
Or his charisma
That's the truth no one has me feeling they are better. One and only ELVIS

STEVE ENGLISH He had the ability to turn the mundane into something magical that the audience would always cherish. Another one of his gifts.
I was only 6 when Elvis died but I remember my mother and her sister crying that day when the news came. I always loved his music. Kentucky Rain was probably my favorite. Just something about the song and the way he would sing it was simply musical perfection.
I was 7 and this is my favourite too.
AMEN
It’s PERFECT. Everything about it.
Yeah was 11, still the Same generation as you
I was 14 not yet 15 and I remember where I was at that moment when I heard it over the radio at my cousin's house.
Seven lonely days
And a dozen towns ago
I reached out one night
And you were gone
Don't know why you'd run,
What you're running to or from
All I know is I want to bring you home
So I'm walking in the rain,
Thumbing for a ride
On this lonely Kentucky backroad
I've loved you much too long
And my love's too strong
To let you go, never knowing
What went wrong
Kentucky rain keeps pouring down
And up ahead's another town
That I'll go walking thru
With the rain in my shoes,
Searchin for you
In the cold Kentucky rain,
In the cold Kentucky rain
Showed your photograph
To some old gray bearded man
Sitting on a bench
Outside a gen'ral store
They said "Yes, she's been here"
But their memory wasn't clear
Was it yesterday,
No, wait the day before
So I fin'ly got a ride
With a preacher man who asked
"Where you bound on such a dark afternoon?"
As we drove on thru the rain
As he listened I explained
And he left me with a prayer
That I'd find you
no words to express how magnificent he was....
Beautiful song, beautiful voice. Eddie Rabbit wrote this masterpiece.
Finally someone mentioned the art of the song itself, not who delivered it. Elvis was great but my draw has always been , "Who wrote that masterpiece? "
Didn't know that. Kentucky gave a lot of talented songwriters their biggest payday
Was looking to see if anyone else remembered that.
Eddie Rabbit the pride and joy of East Orange, NJ
Elvis Presley will always be The King to a great deal of people!!🎸
such a beautiful voice
I live in KY! Love this song!

Beautiful words❤
Asked why he gave away personal items to fans at concerts"they're the ones that put them there".Humble too the max.🗽👍
