Matt, one idea I have for your prequel stories is to give Anakin a brother. I know, it's a bit late, but it's the only way for the prequels to not spoil the reveal of Luke's father. Think about it: Anakin's brother and Anakin both like Padme. When it comes to the big "I'm pregnant" scene, Anakin's first question would be naturally "Who's the father?" To which Padme responds with Anakin's brother. Also, with the birth scene, I wouldn't spoil Luke and Leia being siblings.

Maul taunting Obi-1 while throwing market stands around, knocking stuff over... Very cool alternative to episode 1!
I also liked how much thought you put into the story. Many elements of your story telling make much more sense in the grand scheme. It gives much more detail and depth to the progression and events of the episodes 4 through 6. For example picking Alderaan as a place of action is so cool!
All I have to say is... when does production on this thing begin? This sounds like an AMAZING Star Wars movie!

I enjoyed this thoroughly. I feel much the same way as you did about the prequels, as in that they were okay and somewhat enjoyable, but still felt like they missed the mark with regards to storytelling. It was fun to listen to you explore this idea, and I think I'd have preferred to have seen this in the cinema instead of what we got! I'd love to see you do a continuation of this for the following two movies, I have a feeling I'd like them just as much. Great work as ever, Matt.

Man, this is SO COOL! I grew up watching the prequels, so I don’t hate them kinda like you were saying, but I like your Ideas a lot. If I were to do something like this (and I’m considering it now) I would find a way to keep the Clone Troopers because they’re so rad and the clone wars cartoons were awesome, but otherwise I love the way you’ve set it out. PLEASE do videos for the rest of the prequels!

This was so cool! I think you said this at some point on role up and die, but the worst part about the prequels is the fact that there are extremely redeemable things hidden amongst the angst, cheesy writing, and unnecessary force martial arts. I've always wanted to try to re-imagine the prequels as something better, but my method has always been "Reform" rather than revolution. This take on basically a total reconstruction of the prequels is extremely interesting and super inspiring. Its also very eye opening for me on many things of the prequels that I hand-waved that I honestly shouldn't have (Anakin as a Navigator on a spice freighter, keeping lightsabers special and lightsaber combat less Wire-fu-y, and capitalizing on the Mandalorians). I eagerly await your version of Episodes 2 and 3!

Howdy from France, Matt ! Very cool ideas and story. I'm not a prelogy hater -- although I was 9-12-15 when the original movies came out, I always preferred RotJ over ESB, and liked the prequels very much with RotS being my all-time favourite. As a Star Wars fan, you've probably heard of this article on the web that talks about the order in which you should show the movies to someone who does not know the saga : order of the narrative (1 to 6) vs order of release (3-4-5 then 1-2-3). The author of this article ends up with another order he calls the Machete : 4-5-2-3-6. I'd suggest you try it for your next Star Wars marathon. I did it and enjoyed it a lot. Keep up the good work :)

I would love to see this as a fan made what if graphic novel series or fan film. Also I think it would be cool if the reason the Jedi are so rare and dying out is because there just not being born anymore. And Anakin is the first natural born force user in decades. Take away the prophecy he can still be a chosen one but it would be because the Jedi have become wishful for the return of true born force users.
I want you to do The Last Jedi. I will gladly replace that movie with anything you come up with and willingly delude myself that your version is cannon.

I enjoy Qui-Gon as a character, but he always felt a little superfluous to me in the context of the prequels.

This is so cool Matt! I love this an you lol. I might replace Obi Wan's love interest with Mon Mothma so she could do something in the movies and her be Padme's mom or something. However this was awesome and looking forward to more.

Well that's different. Anakin is a bit too much like Luke for my tastes. I liked the contrast between them as it was in the movies.
This was pretty good except the clone jedi thing 😅 too weird for. I always imagined growing up the republic and mandalorian federation at war for several years both sides running out of soldiers and having to use cloning technology to replenish there ranks thus starting the clone wars. I feel like the mandalorians could've been the equalizavent of the soviet union, since in the original trilogy the empire was representative of nazis
