- Since releasing Wes Hauch's Signature Jupiter 7-string dual-rail humbucker in 2019, we've received different questions about how the Jupiter bridge humbucker compares tonally to the Dimebucker. So, Wes put together this awesome demo video A/B-ing the Jupiter 6 and Dimebucker bridge humbuckers to provide insight into the unique tonal characteristics of each of these aggressive 6-string dual-rail pickups.

In 2019, we partnered with powerhouse metal guitarist Wes Hauch to craft the Custom Shop Jupiter 7-String Rails bridge humbucker. After receiving overwhelming praise from extended range players and countless requests over the last year, we’ve developed this brutal pickup in a 6-string version and created a perfectly calibrated neck pickup to accompany the bridge as well.
To facilitate the articulate and aggressive tones he’s known for, Wes requested a passive rails humbucker set with searing output and maximum clarity and balance. Built with dual stainless-steel rail poles, a ceramic magnet, and a finely tuned high output wind developed closely with Wes, the result is the Jupiter Humbucker Set-a 6-string pickup pair that delivers aggressive mid-range attack, evenly balanced string response, and focused clarity. It won’t make you play like Wes, but it will help you cop his tone.

You did Mr. Dime proud! The pickup sounds really really good. If only he was still alive and we could have seen a collaboration with Wes, oh man :)
I have only heard one person play "Dime like Dime " ... That is this guy .
I've always like the Washburn Dime models over the deans.
sounds awesome man. i have one of the first custom shop jupiters im gonna be putting in a 7string im building. i love rail pickups.
They are very different. The looks are the main similarity.
Tight!!
Jupiter's less muddy in the midrange, still have that strange thing in the high mids, at least not my thing but sounds good
Ive owned the dimebucker for almost 20 years. It has such a heavy scooped sound. With a high output of gain, a loud bass response. The bass is so overpowering when I track my guitars clean using the dimebucker, I have to put a multi band compressor on. To level the signal from not having the dimebucker’s bass response clipping my signal.
Seems to me the major difference is how the lower mid bits are voiced, theres more flab in the dimebucker and more focus and defined in the jupiter, I could be wrong. Seems like id prefer the dimebucker tho, really love the leads on that thing
Both sound great. I’m gonna need to get a Jupiter set. They really sound awesome and besides I already have a dime set loaded Dean from hell 😂
Love the Dimebucker is amazing but damn the 100hz is exhausting over time in your ear
This guy plays like if Dimebag went to Berklee, everything is too perfect haha
Dimebucker!!!
awesome way different
lol- you just played the CD and pretended to strum did you ? that was too perfect.
Totally different, right off the bat I can tell JUPITER is more balanced and more middy. DIMEBUCKER has more of scoop thing going on, but plenty of hi-mids & treble still. They are both very hot and crunchy though and the harmonics sound fucking crazy.
I prefer the Dimebuckers !
The Jupiter sounds like a FLEOR.But still sounds good , I would go with Dime anytime .
If the Jupiter had the same basic tone but with the low end chunk of the Dimebucker it would be great.
The Dime has more gain and more bass , so has a bit bit more chug , but withe quite a scoop in the midrange . The Jupiter is cleaner with less bas and more midrange . So is far better for 7 strings to avoid mud
what's the sense of comparing 'em in two DIFFERENT guitars? ;)
becerse teeernweerd.
Tone is stored in the balls
Both guitars are the same model, the finishes are the only difference between the two.
@@benjipc5637 yeah and I'd be scared tinkering with the wirings on guitars these rare, especially if one of them's probably one of his gems.
@@benjipc5637 yeah, I bet, but still - DIFFERENT guitars -_-
Wondering if Wes is a Magician and owed a Jupiter planetary spirit recognition on this Project,Deff.got mine🤙🏽🤘🏽🔯
FRATER LEMUEL 0=0
EGO SUM LVX DEI
Jupiter is truer to L500 types scorching mid high tone.
Se7entyse7enth is here
Jupiter has tons more mid range
I can't tell until I hear actual music being played.....Oh wait.... there's some....
..where?
