The killings, perpetrated by local Hindu militias assisted by the Indian Army, and at times, the Indian army itself, resulted in the deaths of 27,000-40,000 civilians between September-October 1948, most of them Muslims.
I am from Hyderabad. My parents who moved to Hyderabad from AP during Nizam rule in 1930. Once Rajakaars started attacking Hindus they moved to Regimental bazar. They were staying in Chilkadpally near Lord Venkateswara temple.

My grand parents told - when Indian army entered Latur, Razakaars were killed like cats n dogs; a deep well was full with their dead bodies.

I remember once a freedom fighter relative had come to my house. I went with him to enquire about a handicap chair. At that time the salesman asked him which freedom movement he was a part of and he told me that his fight was more against the Nizam. I didn't understand that time. Now it has come to my mind what kind of fight it was.

Because of formation of new state in 1956 by combining both andhra region ( past it was part of madras state) and telangana region ( former hyderabad state ruled by nizam) as Andhra Pradesh.since the new state is formed the rulers of andhra never gave importance to telangana history they never included our history in school syllabus.They always taught about there history which actually we telangana people are not part of it.on june 2nd 2014 telangana formed as new state,then after we started to know about our history.Before 2014 we telangana people know our history because of our grandmother and grandfathers who are belongs to that period.
