@@suntanglory for a roasted plantain? girl I av never heard or seen anything like that. So pls confirm for me if it's for a roasted planted or cooked plantain?? 🤸♀️
Callan you had waakye without avocado 🥑 mate you've missed out big time. Also roasted plantain without peanuts 🥜 its a big fail. Give it a try next time mate.
Yooh bro, you are too much, that is why I can't stop watching your video, you different, not like orders separate their self from others culture, but you and your family jumps in to it, that makes you guys real , keep up good job bro, love from UK
Good to see you again bro, you must be home for the Christmas? All that for a dollar is amazing, that’s why we planned on retiring in Ghana for sure Thanks for the experiment appreciated Cheers and happy holidays to you and family

OH Callan you make me miss my visits to Ghana even more. I stayed at the Holi flats Apartments in my last visit. very close to Airport. I love the Ghanaian food . But like you not on the spicy side want the full flavor
You need fish fried in onion, tomato and pepper with that plantain, if you don't like peanut. Even red palm oil with a bit of salt as a dip for roasted or boiled plantain is magical....
Very tasteful when pear/papaya is put on top of your waakye. Great combination, trust me you will love it. will also help reduce the hotness of the shito(pepper sauce)
One of my ambitions on my next visit is to try waakye (preferably served in a leaf in the traditional manner , but i realise that might be more difficult to find lol). Street food in ghana is tremendous
Very nice vid... As you said its good to mix it up with restaurants and local joints. That way get a great experience and have more to talk about when you meet friends. Callan.. For a tutorial on how to pronounce Waakye... Its correct how you pronounce it which is how the northerners do. But in the south as with Akans will say it is like.. waachay. In akan (ky) is pronounced as ( ch) as in chair or church.. Hope it helps ✌🏾👍🏾

Hi cool video,
Waakye is actually pronounced “waachay”. So it’s spelt waakye but said “waachay”

"Waa -Kay " unfortunately majority of people call it "waa-chay"
