Guys your missing the point. Scootaloo is disabled but she's not outcast or treated like she's a fragile glass flower. She's never going to fly the same way that Pegasus do because then that would tell disabled kids you aren't worth anything if you're not whole. That disabled kids are broken and they only need to believe or try really really really hard and they'll be fixed! Some disabled people can't be fixed but that doesn't mean they're not people and that they should be babied and watched over night and day. Pegasi fly with magic, it isn't about actual physical ability. Scootaloo may have big enough wings and strong enough muscles, but it could be a disability relating to the way her body uses magic.
If Scootaloo can't fly, they should give a reason somehow, like her wings never develop as she gets older rather than have them the same size as everyone other pony. Also, Bulk Biceps can fly and his wings are the same size as Scoots - logic?

@@p4st_275 Yeah. My theory is that while she was born with wings, she just has far too much Earth Pony magic in relation to her Pegasus magic, so she can't fly.

It's like a cripple never being able to walk. It be nice to see her fly as symbolic to those children who are disabled to believe one day maybe they will get to methodically fly too.
I think it's a bad idea. When you're disabled, you need to learn how to live with it and be happy the way you are. Being disabled doesn't mean you have to be sad, disabled children should be shown that. Sometimes you just can't fight disabilities, and it shouldn't be a problem! We should accept everyone as they are, we're all different and there is nothing bad about it!
People can work around disabilities with medication or mobility aids. Being happy the way you are does not mean you don't want a wheelchair or a cane. We should always hope for Scootaloo to gain the ability to fly, just like we provide real colorblind people with EnChroma lenses to see colors. I support anything disabled people want the ability/mobility/capacity to do that I can. The disability is not Scootaloo.
@@cassandrabelyeu2419 I think it'd be nice if she was able to fly thanks to prosthetics. It would show disabled children that things like wheelchairs and artificial limbs are good because they help you be independent. But her getting "magically" fixed would be wrose.
I don't think it would be worse, since modern medical advancements can be so much like magic, if they play it right. But it would be more realistic to correct it through surgery or physical therapy than mobility aids, more realistic to correct it through mobility aids than through prosthetics, and more realistic to correct it through prosthetics than by waving a horn and making the problem go away magically. There are a number of good options here, many of which can be direct metaphors for seeking and receiving treatment. The only way to lose is by skipping the medical process, letting her just say "there's no place like home" and be able to do it, or having her never seek medical assistance at all. And I think that the third option is by far the worst scenario, because I have two health conditions that went untreated for many years, and one of them was incredibly easy to manage with the proper intervention. Like magic. No one should go through life without seeking medical help, even if the cure is something unrealistic. Don't be Scootaloo.

MLP's already shows how characters get through personality disorders and still live good lives, so Scootaloo is like a physical disability case.
