Make sure ECU is getting good ground to chassis connection mate then see about Reflashing the ECU and add EWS delete again if you've already proven crank sensor isn't at fault
I find with engines that have been sitting for a while then the cam and crank sensor can fail. The cam sensor doesn't normally cause non start issues, they can but its not common, they just run bad, the crank sensor will stop it starting tho and If your not getting the correct ohms from the crank sensor plug then thats a good sign thats the fault, normally you would also get a crank sensor fault of some sort on diagnostics tho. Also go to bmw only for the sensors they are around £140 each, cheap ones Dont work or stop working. Also ews? is the ews deleted? Or is the ews and ecu a matching pair? Also Don't crank the engine so much, it will burn your starter out, if they dont start within 10 seconds or so then theres normally an issue.

I'd say EWS if it's been deleted on DME depending on the chassis that may have its own EWS that needs some wires joining from memory.
