I was holding off until I could give a review of how they teach both the science blocks and the social studies blocks so I could have an opinion on all of the subjects but so far we've only gotten through science. I can do a review of the language arts/ science if that's helpful?
I feel like even if a kid is on par with their grade level based on age, every curriculum is different. A math curriculum from one company may work but their language arts may not. Personally not a fan of box curriculum especially in the younger years when it involves reading (kids vary in reading skills). It works for some people which I think is amazing. Can't wait to see how its working for you guys :)
That's very true!! I definitely wouldn't use this MBTP curriculum for phonics or reading instruction- when I purchased the 4-5 year old program we used it for literature and crafts, and then did Logic of English for reading. I definitely agree those younger elementary years need more explicit instruction than what most box curriculum can offer
I’d love to see a follow up video on Moving Beyond the Page once your son gets through a few months. Did you stick with IEW? If not are you replacing writing or is MBP enough?
He just finished his first unit! I will do a video on it after he's finished his second one. He did a block study of science with the first literature unit, and this second one will be social studies.
Correct, this is secular. So far, I have not run into anything that challenges my biblical beliefs, and when I do I will either pivot and supplement where needed, or make another decision at that point. We use our own bible curriculum as a family, as well as my kids are in a kids discipleship program locally ( AWANA ) and we spend time with people in our church community so he is still immersed in the word and surrounded by those with Godly values. Math is the only core subject I supplement from the MBTP curriculum. They do sell it with math but I use my own.
Can’t wait to see what you think of MBTP!!
I have a full review up of MBTP now!!
Please update us on Moving Beyond the Page 10-12! I am thinking of getting it for my son second semester. Thanks!

@@MindfullyLiv That would be so helpful, I really trust your opinion and advice on curriculum!
Yes!! I am homeschooling two in 9th, two in 5th, a 2nd and a Kinder with a 1 year old. The last year has been crazy!!
Oh my gosh momma, I'm super impressed. All the blessings to you 🙌
@@MindfullyLiv thank you! Blessings to you as well!

Exciting to see how your year goes for you!
Mine is starting 3rd, and we have a 3 yr old in tow. He is the number one biggest obstacle to our homeschool day. 😂😂😂
The three year old little siblings stage was quite the juggle 😆 I remember a repeat pattern of snacks, play, snacks, cuddle, repeat 😂💛
I’m excited to hear how Moving Beyond the Page works for him this school year
Thank you, I know it's going to be a change in dynamics, but I'm hopeful it works out overall 🙏

Is moving beyond the page christian
Moving Beyond The Page say on their website that they are secular. I have not seen any religious themes with this curriculum.
This is a secular curriculum, correct? Do you think a Christian family could use it comfortably?
Do you supplement anything other than math?
