That first storm is why a I always start off in a cave. I usually try to find a medium sized cave near where I want to build until I can deploy at least stone.
Not having a pc, I'm not afforded the choice of too many games like this. This looks like fun. And it's apparent that you love it, as i watch. I love how you explain (in your way) what and how you're doing things. Keep up the great work!

Yes. You return to your drop pod to return to station. There you can repair workshop items for 10 ren. Pretty cheap. You also have the option to call the dropship to you. Ether by bringing a workshop item down from station, or craft one on planet. They are consumed when used though, and costs a bit. When you come back down again you end up back at the starter area, no matter if you called the ship to a different location before you went up.
You can play with controller but you have to use the keyboard and mouse also. I am new to computer games but I would say mouse and keyboard will work better in the end. I gave up on controller as I had to keep heading over to ketpyboard.

Jesus Flops..( no don't think that, you are not him) slap a purple filter on, add a few creatures and a boss and charge £25....I'm playing this at the mo and think it's bloody great but £25?? 28hrs till pre-load on steam for Starfield cannot chuffing wait....Have fun and die with honour (many, many times). The base game is only $30 Canadian in my opinion one of the best survival games in the world right now. For all the garbage games out there, the DLC price tag does not bother me at all to support them. No one is forced to buy it, and it includes more than a purple filter and animals.

Everyone has their own thing but I also like using the slanted roofs so it doesn't feel so close to my head lol.
Normally i dont backseat ;) but there are arrows on the building try to hover over it to build in that diraction ;P

This is quintessentially the best survival game that i will never play.... because i like a certain level of junk and buggery in my survival games.
