That's not just anybody...that's Rener Gracie, son of Rorion Gracie, who is the brother of GOAT RIckson Gracie, who's father and uncle engineered, created and are responsible, and who invented BJJ formerly called Gracie Jiu-Jistsu and mostly responsible for bringing UFC to America. But, yeah...Rener is enthusiastic for sure. All legends.
Watching an expert excitedly talk about two masters of the game is always entertaining. I also loved his Khabib-Poirer breakdown. And watching all the kickboxing experts talk about Gastelum-Adesanya.
@ I hear ya but that is Bens style of fighting, the only thing he's good at is wrestling. That Masvidal Maia fight, with the scoring nowadays Masvidal woulda took that W defo cause Maia just had his back doing nothing.
Speaking of A1 I had to send my A1 Gi back to Amazon for a A2 because the A1 was too small. And now I might send my A2 back in for a A3 because it also is a small fit on me.
rener is the man. he used to do gracie breakdowns after most ufc events but theyve died down a little.... but when rener does a video its the best resource to understand interesting mma grappling exchanges.
Awesome energy! Thank you for such a great breakdown of the fight. I wrestled in both high school and college and haven't been exposed to other styles of fighting. You're explanation relay made it clear of what both men were thinking for stratagy.
Seriously, I wonder how each of these outstanding grapplers felt like to each other. Askren was fuckin skilled in that fight, takedowns at will, escaping each sub and ending up in superior position. Wonder if Damien was shocked
@@garretttringale436 Takedowns at will?? You sure about that buddy?? There were about 5-6 attempts from Ben where Maia just pushed him away. I was more impressed by Maia being able to reverse every takedown of Bens and get in mount.
@Jacob Sirak "last minute of a fight he was loosing" lol Maia won the 3 rounds, and cmon,he is a bjj Black belt,he fking wants to be on the Ground, you're saying like if Maia was a grappling Noob
@@MichaelP-ke1tm man you guys just hate on ben, it's like you dont respect him and wrestling as a martial art. He won several scramble with maia, and yes took him down at will. Watch the gracie breakdown. Gameplan was to wear on him for 4 minutes, make him defend takedowns, clinch and pressure. Last minute, take him down. He did this to perfection first two rounds, but took him down too early in 3rd, and maia made him pay
just attended Demian Maia seminar. discussed the concepts of back control and hip alignment, techniques to take the back, and the choke he used on askren. much love to the bjj community ✌️
Thanks for the Renergy so soon after the match. A fantastic breakdown! Askren fan since 2005, but a bjj devotee since 2018 because of your videos. Wrestling and bjj are siblings and should be taught in the same schools as a single art.
Thank you for the education n breakdown for a better understanding! Both guys fought well, thrilled n entertained the fans! Its truly appreciated! Thank you everyone and stay healthy!
I dont know much about ground fighting and this is a great explenations of all the transitions and attempts that were in that fight. In the fight it went so quick and I was really forward looking forward to this fight. Maia is a legend.
I tell ya, the Gracie's have done a great job of changing the public's perception of them over the decades. These guys come across as good guys who teach for all the right reasons.
This guy is very good at breaking down the fight, and putting the idealism/mindset that was going on during the match in full display for everyone to understand....
Man I love how even Maia managed to add another level to the RNC. Im gonna have to try that next time I roll! Amazing stuff, love your energy and insight!
Really good breakdown. Also no disrespect, but thats why I changed from gi to no gi grappling. I love the techniques used and if someone has a jacket or thick collar shirt many techniques still transfer, but mostly where I live its too hot and its regular shirts 9 months. So we changed our class uniforms and began focusing on submissions not needing a gi. Good to see yall promoting a seminar focusing on this. Hope it went well!
Wow!!! Smartest breakdown ever!!!! In the fight, you just cant see all that technique, you know it's happening , but it happens so fast it's hard to see!!!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Wow! I'm a non pratictioner lover of jiu jitsu. I'll Go back one day, i can tell. I Just wish things was easier in Brazil. Meanwile i can learn from amazing masters. Maia (the perfect hall of fame prospect) and you guys. I can't express enough how proud i am about the B at BJJ. Thanks!
Moves are named to be able to reference them without having to show it. So calling it in a really specific name when you're actually showing it is unnecessary for both parties to be able to understand each other
Great breakdown. Looks like Rener missed the use of the armpit to secure the choking arm. With the glove on, it gives as much leverage as the crook of the elbow usually does. Also vital was Maia's head locking Ben's head into place.
Masterful breakdown, straight to the point and crystal clear BJJ is still a new sport compared to wrestling which is thousand years old, there is a lot of potential for new strategies, techniques & tricks Will there ever be someone with Maia's grappling and Khabib's wrestling?
Yea jujistu is good for body awareness and to keep you sharp for when the season starts up again. Make sure the school you go to does stand up tho, alot schools dont work on takedowns

Khabib you should grapple with maia.
Hahaha

Rener is the best of the best in explanation & technique breakdowns
Just watched that fight again on ESPN + and watched this right after. It was great to see this breakdown from someone who breaks it down so well
"Come closer" - Rener Gracie
"I can't let you get close" - Chael Sonnen
Damn, to have that depth and level of detailed analysis within hours of the event is insanely impressive. Thanks for the insight!
Are we just going to ignore that slick intro?
yea
lol
Ben did a great job against one the best jujitsu specialist in the game
Masvidal did better.

Ben is a great wrestler but he strikes like he’s dreaming
He did
@@brere45678 nope. Masvidal chose to strike. Ben actually grappled voluntarily. Much more vulnerable.
But yes, Masvidal's RNC defense was superior.

This grapplers matchup was so crazy, Rener calls this video a "Brrakdown". Love it! Lol
Beautiful breakdown
