Climbing El Peñol, the rock of Guatapé - Things to do in Medellin, Colombia

One of the best things to do when you travel to Medellin if visiting Guatape, and of course climb the giant Rock called the stone of El Penol (Or la Piedra del Peñol, in Spanish)!
It was such an amazing experience to ascend and enjoy the landscape, the view is marvelous!
According to Geologist, the stone is approximately 65 million years old. The most accepted theory about its origin says that it was formed by clashes between tectonic plates that caused an outcrop of several rocks to the surface, of which due to its magnitude, the most important is Piedra del Peñol.
