I have not seen sweet potatoes or yams cooked this way before but will definitely be cooking them like this the next time I cook them! They look delicious and I’m like you in that I love it when yams just melt in your mouth like butter! My dad, who passed, would cook his sweet potatoes smeared with olive oil; seasoned with salt and pepper and wrapped in foil and cooked them in the oven until they were tender and releasing their syrup. He would then cut it open and put a pat of butter, sprinkle with brown sugar; cinnamon and nutmeg! Talk about delicious. When I was battling cancer and couldn’t eat he made me one of his sweet potatoes and I was able to eat about a half of one so he would make me one everyday and add more brown sugar and butter for the calories. Lord I miss my daddy, he would go to Timbuktu and back for anyone, especially his family! Thank you so much for bringing back such fond memories of him with your video! 🙏❤️
