Hard not to like someone who does this. I have overtaken camper vans on steep downhills in New Zealand and it is a great deal of fun. Perhaps not the safest thing to do, but oh, the pleasure!
Great Video! I ride on this road nearly 105km/h! Ich bin die Nockalmstrasse schon einige male gefahren, und das ist eine der besten Abfahrten die ich schon gefahren bin!
what an awesome to promote your region/city! if i ever visit Austria and am fortunate enough to have my bike shipped with me, you will definitely have a mad american doing this hill a few times.
Wonderful video, especially liked the overtake at 1:05. I went from classic downtube shifters (27 years) to Records, never experienced the Sora / Tiagra "floppy" brifters, so watching them move in your video is a treat, it makes following your control easy, just watching the barrel adjusters move.
man, i ride a motorcycle , with full body armour and leathers, sticky tyres, and , yes, i brake into corners, but you bicycle guys are crazy/brave .. RESPECT !!
Man, this is amazing…. I noticed you were pedaling part way… I used to ride up this hill near where I live, only about 5 miles long but a climb in elevation, and my reward was the ride down the back side of the hill… about 3 miles down and I would hit speeds just over 50 mph - or about 80 Km/ph. It was a rush…
I use to not care and think about the negative side of doing this. I'm an experience rider but got to a point that I just don't trust my tires . You have some serious balls. Keep up the good work.
i ski instruct during the winter in austria. im just starting to get into road biking more now puttin alot more time into it. now ive just gotta find a job in the summer i can do so i can enjoy some snowless roads! if uve got the power to get to some of the places ive seen its almost never ending gorgeous down hills with blue skies and gorgeous scenery! :) sweet vid. no chance im descending at those speeds anytime soon :D
wow, first vid where ive been able to see the speed properly , all the other vids dont look fast , also i like seeing the brakes and when you press em. very good vid
I'm from London, UK; we use MPH. My circumference is spot on and I use a magnet sensor for my speed reading. I've never had the chance to get into all that racing stuff. I've had a hard time since 16 years old trying to find my way in life and cycling seems to help but I'm in College right now. I understand where you're coming from but I've been cycling since I was 11 none stop and the main thing I like doing is racing cars lol sounds stupid but I like the adrenaline rush of speed.
Espectacular,me recuerda cuando era corredor de bicicleta, mientras se vá bajando,se observa por segundos el paisaje ,se siente la turbulencia en los oidos,excelente.....@
It's really fun to do high speed run on descent. I went twice to 85kph. First time on a mountain bike in the draft of my friend's car and the second time on my road bike in a incredible descent on a road close to jay peak. Chin stuck to the stem, seat on the abs knee stuck together... With my old wheelset woobbleling started around 75kph. My friend passed beside me, using my draft and peaked at 95. He got bigger balls than me. I made also some run around 80kph while racing in pack of 3-5 bikes..
Cool vid! I tried to record my ride with pocket camera, but the result is horrible. Can't wait to buy GoPro camera, it seems that camera have very clear and good record.
Because of this video, i decided to ride the Nockalmstraße in August. Let me tell you: compared to the descent, the ascent was a pleasure. In the valley it was 21°C, on top of the mountain it was only 6.5° degrees and i wore nothing else than a shorts and a jersey. I think my max speed was like 40km/h. I would have prefered to climb it again instead of riding the descent ;)
Hi SuperSchang, this is David from Hong Kong. Downhill is fun but dangerous. Don't over-estimate yours and your bike limited. Play it safely. Take care !
Amazing! I really enjoyed it! Do you know what your top speed was? I have only ever gone 39.4, but that's because I live in the city so I only have about three blocks before I have to stop. I see you have a CR1 Scott fork, very nice! I have one on my Trek 1500, I love the look of it.
After your message i found some yes :) Makes me think why they don't use them in tour de france etc. So much more brake power than the current ones. Only disadvantage is the weight but with all the carbon/titanium technology..
TBH i think this video is amazing with this music and the proposed music list would have spoilt it. A rare triumph for youtube copyright :P. Lovely video.
There already are new saddles which are extremely comfortable. Try out one of the Selle SMP models or any saddle of similar design- I believe the only other saddle manufacturer that's similar is Specialized. The SMP's are designed based on the width of your ischial tuberosities. Research is conclusive that saddles with cutouts reduce the chances of urogenital disorders, but most cutouts are way too small to be effective. The Selle SMP line solves this problem.
It must have been an amazing ride! How many km is it? Riding it uphill must have been a pain, but I know the amazing feeling of getting to the top of a huge hill :)
Great video! This road seems so nice :) I see there is some music credits at the end, but they doesn't seem to be correct. What is the actual music from this video? Thank you!
geez! I'm really looking forward to getting a new bike next year! My old chromoly Kuwahara has developed a nasty speed wobble on anything over 35km/h >.> I think its my front rim not being 100% true though. Beautiful video! thanks a lot for this! :D
I just enjoyed it when I did it… although I did occasionally think about the fact that it wasn’t asphalt, but what they call “chip-seal.” They spread thick oil on the ground and then cover it with gravel, so the finished surface is solid, but rougher than asphalt. I did this on a Mt. bike with XT components …. And at the time I was at about 260 lbs. (weight probably contributed to the speed… lol)
wow, amazing turning angles, i get a bit scared so have to slow down, maybe have to have my first turn crash to know my limits, then i'll be ok, "everything leading to the crash is glory, everything after hurts" -some skater dude
Sehr cooles Video! War letztes Jahr mit meiner Familie dort oben (aber mit dem Auto :P), war bestimmt sehr anstrengend die Passstraße nach oben zu fahren? ;-) Habe mir jetzt auch ein Rennrad gekauft :)
braking like he was, is a good way to ensure grip. you would be surprised on how much a little break around the inside of a corner can keep you planted on both wheels instead of having to ride an outside line or risk a slide out.... So with that said i think he is a good rider
hi!this is francesco from italy! i'm next to buy my first road bike and i've focused my attention to canyon roadlite 6.0 and rose pro 2200 compact. both cost 999 euro. bot shimano 105 and good aluminium quality. the first model frame geometry is more aimed to comfort -maybe good to a newbie. rose model is gorgeously neat and elegant, with smoothed welds and inner wiring. which one do you suggest?
Good ride. I found myself leaning around the corners with you.
Luck

Super dope video , song goes perfect with the video. Love it man...I hope to ride this someday.
Great camera position and amazing road to use as a demonstration.
I really like this movie, already watched it few times. I wish I could live there, so I could climb these great roads. Good job!
I wish I could find a hill that gorgeous with such little traffic. Awesome video.
Great Video!
I ride on this road nearly 105km/h!
Ich bin die Nockalmstrasse schon einige male gefahren, und das ist eine der besten Abfahrten die ich schon gefahren bin!

Wow, looks a little bit like my descent of the SustenpaB in the Swiss. Great movie!
Keep on cycling, greetings from Amsterdam, Theo.
Great video, beautiful scenery wish I was there!
Omg, I really enjoyed watching this. It's amazing man. Beautifull. Greetings from Serbia

Hell of a ride, and such a beautiful place! I'd love to ride there, but i wouldn't be able to resist the urge to wave to everyone i saw! xD
beautiful country and bike handling skills.
Awesome video mate, looks like a great route
I would like to do this again but I would want some wheels put together specifically for high speed… GREAT video, please post more….
beautiful man, I have wet dreams about cycling roads like this. I need to move to Austria!

Another great place to go down in Austria is by Turracher Hohe. I did it 4 years ago. Hit top speed of 70 km/h. awesome fun.
You build yourself up to a level where a person feels confident , Feel good, don't be a ham.
Awesome riding !
That looks amazing!
Thanks, make more videos, they are awesome
Breathtaking!!
Cool vid! I tried to record my ride with pocket camera, but the result is horrible. Can't wait to buy GoPro camera, it seems that camera have very clear and good record.

After your message i found some yes :) Makes me think why they don't use them in tour de france etc. So much more brake power than the current ones. Only disadvantage is the weight but with all the carbon/titanium technology..
It's really fast. The road looks great, too.

very nice, you're obviously an expert rider, how fast were you going?
geez! I'm really looking forward to getting a new bike next year! My old chromoly Kuwahara has developed a nasty speed wobble on anything over 35km/h >.> I think its my front rim not being 100% true though. Beautiful video! thanks a lot for this! :D

That looked like a blast. Were you taking your legs off the pedals in the turns?
Some scenery you got there. Great ride! Did you pedal a lot to go that fast? Or was it steep downhill?
Excellent video. Were you using the chest mount?
wow, amazing turning angles, i get a bit scared so have to slow down, maybe have to have my first turn crash to know my limits, then i'll be ok, "everything leading to the crash is glory, everything after hurts" -some skater dude
Amazing video!!! What was the average speed ?
sehr gefährlicher spaß - sehr guter fahrer
i would love to do something like this, it would be a very pleasurable and breathtaking experience.

I got 1 question wich I hope you will answer, :) if you hit a stone on the road won't you fall of the bike.?
