I met Doug Stanhope for the first time ever at the Dexter Lake Club in Dexter, Oregon, where Otis Day and the Knights played in Animal House. He accidentally announced that he was doing an impromptu show on Facebook. And I showed up and it was a private thing. And they were the nicest humans on earth. That whole crew is some of the best people you could ever meet.
Apologize for being off topic - the SMU mention reminded me of his Dallas show(s) - 6 in total I believe. I attended the Saturday 7:00p one and the club had it's third straight packed house. He absolutely killed it. 🤣 I now put Ari up on the same level as Jim Jefferies, Tosh, et al. I seriously considered trying to go again on Sunday. I know he wasn't riffing, but he gives the audience the feeling of such to lull you into a sense of sitting around with your buddies just cracking on everything.
You deserve everything good that is coming to you, Ari. Cheers mate!

I’ve been a Shabbos goy. My business was hired by a synagogue to clean last minute and I was asked to turn on all the lights before leaving. I showed up in a half ton truck with a sticker that said “Boss Bitch” and he didn’t say a word and paid a premium for the last minute inconvenience. Great family!
