@@GetHandles for real, expanding from mid-range is tough. I've been a pretty/very good mid-range shooter for years, never can consistently get that 3pt shot. That might be a good video topic.
My problem in my shooting form was thumb flicking, my shots always went to the right and it was bc of thumb flicking. Now i've been working in not using my thumb and i have already seen improvements
Thanks so much I was airballing like every shot but today I was just doing the things you have said to get a better shot and I played a game and started to make EVERY I mean EVERY shot swished thanks
Im really good at the perimeter but when it comes to 3 point range . I feel like I can't put much power to my shot . I really need to work on transfering power from my legs to upper body .. Thanks For the Video Coach
whenever i shoot i release with both my hands. i know its wrong but i cant shoot with one hand release. also i am very inconsistent and i miss open shots. anyways i am working hard to improve and i know i will becoz ive started playing like crap after my 5 month break from basketball
I mean , my jumper is pretty consistent, i'm very good at 3 pointers but my jumper looks kind off ugly and I don't know if i should change it just because of how it looks, loved the video btw
Hi there, i have been playing basketball for 2 year and i still can never hit a 3 or a 2 even after doing this for hours each day, i can never find my form should i quit?
Im righ handed. When i start to play basketball at 15 i shoot 8 for 10 with my left hand but just 2 of 10 with my righ hand, i just dont know why but and the end of the day i continue to shoot with my righ hand and i never was a good shotter I think i was left handed but i leard how to write with my righ hand
My problem is that when I shoot, I can barely manage to hold on to the ball. The ball is so heavy to lift up and IMPOSSIBLE to shoot with one hand. When I shoot with two hands, it isn't as accurate. I thought maybe it was that I'm not strong enough, but I see those kids on "No Days Off" and they seem fine. Can you help me, coach?
umm how is a basketball heavy???? and im not judging you i promise i am only watching this because i absoulutley suck at basketball but thats just weird.
If you watch their "thumb flick" closely it leaves the ball well before the shooting hand, meaning it's not a true thumb flick. In this video I'm referring to thumb flick on the actual shot. Something I should probably cover in a future video though!
@@GetHandles Oh ok, thank you for clearing that up. While I'm responding to you, I am going to ask if you can do a video on ball handling drills that can help you with your off-the-dribble shooting. I remember hearing that Damian Lillard did some ball-handling drills that increased his shooting percentage that next year
However I think you should mention that if you have a guide hand thumb flick and you don’t have left to right misses, you shouldn’t change it. Great shooters like Curry, Kyrie, and Trae Young have thumb flicks that don’t affect their shots.

Who's trying this Hand flick while watching this? So You can get More Accurate in Shooting?
Does anyone know why I have almost perfect mid-range accuracy but not 3 point even though I have the strength to get the ball there?
Yo Coach thx !
This is exactly how I’ve been practicing coach
I am big fan of basketball
Aman Yadav love it!
shooting from the free throw is easy for me. But when it comes to the elbows or corner, it is hard.

WOW
Ur good
Mine is range I need help on range
Btw I’m a 10 year old
I'm 11
I’m 12 and I recommend shooting 30 shots from free throw than three than keep going deeper
The right shooting mechanics and great shooting form/positioning are what actually makes up for an amazing shot in the hoop/rim like stephen curry.
See the only problem when i shoot is that the ball has no rotation
Probably a guide hand issue. That's covered in this video 👍
For me shooting is soo easy from half court shoot to mid range.. only splash
Thumb flick is one of the most inconsistent? Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving 2 examples of consistent shooters

I'm only watching this because I play basketball in gym and im embarrassed due to how bad I am
shooting is about 35% enough strength 35%gene 30% practice
Yes explain 35% genes?
Sor I cant explain cuz I assume that
your vid sucks and its true wrong, shooting’s 95% hard work and dedication 5% strength
You mean 10%% strength, 90% hard work and 0% gene
The only possibility I can think of for genes is sight but that’s about it
Instructions unclear...
I used my Thumb flick to shoot the Basketball and the crowd seems to want more my hips than my hands.
How can i prevent arm injurys when i shoot?

steph curry do thumb flick, but he could still shoot consistently
But Steph Curry shoots with a thump fluck
