Hi DT. I really like this video. I was wondering how to get the compressed .zip from serve the home or maybe you can explain how to do this. I have the LSI 9300-16i HBA. I have gotten the rufus and broadloom downloads. JUST NEED HELP ON THE PORTION OF UEFI AND THE COMPRESSED.ZIP PORTION. ANY HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED. On a windows 10/11 OS with Asus x399-1 Prime mobo.

Can I boot truenas scale OS with this card that's already in IT mode and use other bays for storage? Have an 8 bay dl360 Gen8 server collecting dust. Thanks

"9) When finished, open USB drive, copy and paste contents from new folder to USB Drive."
Do we overwrite the existing files on the USB stick?

Doesn't work anymore. Some of your links are dead.

It looks like the original broadcom link was deprecated, description has been revised with an updated link for file [zip] 9210-8i_Package_P20_IR_IT_Firmware_BIOS_for_MSDOS_Windows at docs.broadcom.com/docs/12350504 link verified on 2/9/2023

You forgot a few steps i guess. Since this gives the error: cannot flash it firmware over ir firmware

Not sure why yours would have came up with that error, it looks like older revisions of IR firmware had issues updating to P20 using the newer sas2flash versions and the solution was to use an older version to push to P20 or slightly older firmware, then push up to the last revision of P20_IT firmware. The version of sas2flash.efi that should have been running in UEFI mode looks like Version 5/P5 and looks like I was going from version P15 firmware up to the latest P20. Hopefully you found a solution or flashed an earlier firmware and then bumped to P20.

Is there anyway to determine whether a HBA card will work with UEFI - I have found one on eBay that says it's IT mode enabled but doesn't know whether it will work with a UEFI system.

Should just pass through to the operating system, whether you're running windows, unRAID, truenas or any version of unix/Linux that supports the card. IT mode just lets you pass through the drives from the controller to the operating system like just a bunch of disks. Then you set RAID options in your OS it use them like they are.
