- I hop on the trials bike today for an event put on at Tom's property in Vermont. This was a blast, and makes me want to get back out there and really work on my skills.

You've gotten a lot better on the trials bike 🚲
Zach the best thing for balance that you can work on throughout the winter too, is get on a pedal bike of any sort mountain, road, etc. and track stand with that and try and learn how to bunny hop, trackstand and work on that. Then when the season starts up again and you are on the trial's bike, you can apply everything you learned from the pedal bike, to the trial's bike. That would be the easiest and best way in my mind of working on balance and slow bike control.
You can do the trackstand thing on the trials motorcycle also. Plenty of us are holed up in our garages while there is deep snow out just spending time balancing and hopping the front and rear ends around. Much more difficult to do that with a 147 pound motorcycle without the engine running!
I’m confused on how the scoring go. If you already have 3 for dabing then you stall will that 5 add to the 3 or do you have just 5. Also if it does add is the max points you can get is 13.
No adding. The max you can get in a section is a 5. Three is the max you can get for dabbing, so once you have a 3 you can't get anything higher unless you stall or do something that brings you up to a 5.

Trials is a whole nother animal. If you ever get a chance to do a Ryan Young class, dont pass it up.

I’m looking to buy a trails bike. There is a 250, 280,300 version for gas gas. Any idea what’s the difference other then cc’s. Pros and cons. Also I run the A class at races if that matters (more of a top B rider but I like starting up front). Thanks for any help

Why are you selling your trials bike
Zach, to set your own sections, just pick up some soccer cones, www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P3NKWF2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Then you can set a section to ride for a few hours and move to something new without putting in much effort. Keep riding with Mike, he is obviously hella good on the trials bike. And lastly, skip the Beta trials bike... Get a TRRS if at all possible. It is a much better bike. Montesa 301RR is the best of them all, but harder to come by.
no offense you should be doing int. Don't move up until you can get under 15 the whole day constantly. Also crossing over your line(where you've already been)is a 5
