      Are the farm raised ones genetically modified to not produce poison?

    • @Stan_man
      @Stan_man 9 месяцев назад +12

      @@Videogamer-555 No. Researchers have notice that poison developes when they eat other animals infected with "tetrodotoxin-laden bacteria." Farm raised fugu won't come contact with it so it won't develope poison either. However, less than 6 people do still get sick/die from consuming fugu each year.

    Another thing to watch out for is mistaken identity when dealing with "wild crafted" foods; in the southeastern US, there is a dangerous plant known as "pokeweed, inkberry," or "pokeberry" that can be mistaken for anything from rhubarb to blueberries by inexperienced foragers, and the dangers of mushroom hunting could fill a whole video of it's own!

    Es curiosa la yuca porque, a pesar de ser un alimento un tanto peligroso, en Venezuela se suele consumir sin ningún problema. Por lo general, suele ser:
    Hervida: Se pican en varios pedazos, se les quita la cáscara, se ponen a remojar para lavarlas y luego se ponen a hervir, muy comunes como acompañante en una parrilla. También suelen ser añadidas en algunas sopas.
    Fritas: Se hace el mismo proceso de picarlas, pelarlas y lavarlas, solo que ahora simplemente se ponen a freír y ya está.
    Aunque, su uso más conocido es el mítico "casabe", que ahí sí se procede a extraer todo el jugo tóxico que tiene y se hace la respectiva preparación de este alimento.
    También han sido usadas para hacer arepas.

    I've actually had most of the non protein ones, though I'm allergic to rhubarb. Heres a few fun ones for you
    Green tomatoes- like potatoes, they're in the nightshade family, so never eat them uncooked or eat fried green tomatoes in large quantities.
    Hydrocyanic acid is also found in all prunus - cherries, plums, etc. It's concentrated in the non fruit part of the plant, but cherry pits that get missed can be (and historically were) a huge problem beyond the choking hazard.

For example, if you were to go and look at the Buffalo wild wing sauce is highest I can do with the spice that they have is the garlic Parm one did for while have enough of the temporary one that was one level above that, but that’s about my threshold for spiciness so quite low

    Hello doctor! I'm from Russia. Sorry, I'm writing through a translator. but I love hot peppers. I cook sauces, from light to very spicy. in Scoville, I can't say how many. but I want to cook a super and very hot sauce, with the help of Carolina Ripper. it comes to Russia dried, so I can't say the exact concentration in scoville. but in my opinion it will be mega sharp. I eat hot peppers almost every day. I like it, and maybe my body has developed immunity, or my intestines have already come to an end. but I have been using hot pepper for many years, from small to serious amounts. and maybe my tongue doesn't take the edge, even my stomach is silent. but I understand perfectly well that this is very dangerous. But I like it!

IIRC, as your final exam to get qualified to serve it, you must, in front of a judging panel, cook and prepare the dish...and guess who gets to eat it in front of those examiners? IOW, if you're not careful...let's just say it could really be your FINAL exam!!

    This reminds me of the time when I heard about how the actor who played Michael Banks from Mary Poppins died. Apparently, he was going on a cross country adventure, traveling around the world and trying out new things before he would eventually settle down. One day, he wanted to try out some pufferfish. The thing is, is that pufferfish is highly poisonous and fatal to anyone who eats it. In fact, only one part of the fish is actually edible. Unfortunately, Michael's actor, (I can't remember his name), ended up eating a poisonous part of the pufferfish, causing him to eventually die of food poisoning soon after.

    What about Grapefruit? When taking any meds ive been told to specifically avoid Grapefruit. Is this just a wives tale or is there any science behind it?
