Back on the disc version of AoE2 you could watch recorded games from the devs. One was a Japanese game in a 4v4 where they went full champs (and I mean full as in like 120 champs) and melted all the enemy buildings. I remember thinking at the time Champs are OP.
idk why I don't see players carve open space within the trees as a shield. he has the best archer civ in the game, he could prevent the paladins from being even relevant while engaging everything. the crazy range means you can pull back from any magonels before they get close.
2:00 champions will still die to any range units. i mean celt champs + spd buff from centurion is a lot. Reason its not affecting allies is bc there isn't any reason to. It's not like it was removed from them or anything.
green had no food/gold economy which you can see by the stats, 30-40% lower than others. I think that lost the game because then Viper would have had more army (less vills needed to sling green) and also green would've had SO earlier.
i wish viper went to look at greens eco at the end of the game. Also that market delete is so douche and stupid move IMO, it hurts so hard for a negicible increase in distance. its kinda harder to get to bc its kinda past a choke point.

Centurion should buff allied militia line, but the buff should be reduced to 8% attack speed buff for Centurion and 12% attack speed buff for Elite Centurion
Yeah it would be cool but no. Imagine Japanese militia line with a Centurion buffing it. Spirit of the law showed a converted Centurion buffing a Japanese champion and that shredded. Btw it was in his video showcasing Centurion
@@korfits44 Now imagine Spanish and Bohemian Trade. More profitable and builds or rebuilds faster after raids. Or Roman Ballistas with Khmer ally. More max range, less minimum range and Ballistics. etc. etc. there is a miriad of downright OP civ combos so why shit a brick over this one? My only gripe with the Centurion-Militia buff right now is that its too high as a bottom line.
he has more units lost than any other player, you cant say he wants fielding units. Tell me how do you keep Aztec eagles and pikes on the field vs pala and CA? the answer is longbow numbers. not 35 longbow, 60 longbow.
chill, he's a 15-1600 elo player and was trying to push early vs a 2100 elo player, which wasn't a bad idea and well played for such a delta as well. Also, he's next to the GOAT and one of the strongest black forest players, ofc he's going to look bad.
@@AGoodLittleSub You're right, I meant "bad" in comparation to the best. Like, he's able to mop the floor with most players, but in that game, he was clearly the worst one who shafted the team.
@@isaacjacob3590 I wouldn't even go that far. Viper asked for army, so green prioritized army and asked for sling - and later Viper sat at thousands of food, wood and gold, while green ran out of army at the front. If Viper had slung green more regularly the production would not have dried up every so often. Green could've obviously invested more of those resources in economy, but with Viper already having the economy and sitting at almost 5000 gold for most of the game, with 160 economy units and only 40 military on the field, it doesn't really make sense to balloon your own economy. The other team had early disadvantages at their flanks as well - one guy pushing early, the other guy being pushed. But the pockets provided enough army to allow them to build their eco back up. Viper had around 30-40 military units for most of the game, you can't hold your side against that, especially with paladin coming from pocket. Viper could've gone not so hard on trade, but invested into Halbs earlier, to provide his own meatshield, while green recovers. More than 30 Longbows at a time would've maybe even done the trick as well. Or he pumps his overboom into his flank and provides eco for him the entire time, so the flank can provide the meatshield. The opposing flank had an easier position here - he only needs wood and gold for CA. That doesn't need space and many villagers. 50 guys on wood, rest on tradecarts and you're good. So him being pushed back from his own base is not the end of the world. Meanwhile, Kellar, facing the same issue on the other side, went into food-heavy units (Sarjents), without having the space and the eco for late game production. Ganji's Burgundians can carry the side for a while in early imp, but they lack in late game and Kellar wasn't able to get his eco up and his production up and running again. Ultimately it was, in my opinion, a poor choice of strategy on both sides here. This was completely winnable and they were in a strong position on Socartes' side after some slings from Viper. Then Socartes ran out of resources, while Viper was sitting on them, not doing anything and Socartes' production dried up and thus they collapsed.
@@danielk5780 Viper himself complained that Green wasn't making farms or vills. Macromanagement is a thing, you're supposed to know how to manage your economy WHILE you make units. And Viper isn't forced to guess when somebody has no resources anymore. Green sometimes decided to just stop making units instead of alerting he was running out of resources and wouldn't be able to produce anymore. Like, I can't say you're simply wrong, but it's clear that there was a lack of communication from green. Apparently he expected his teammates to guess way too many things, which is unfair to expect.
@@isaacjacob3590 You're not wrong. But at some point Viper even noticed that green stopped making units because "Oh, he's probably running out of resources." And the question still remains: Viper has 160 pop in eco, producing resources no one is using. He could delete almost all of his farmers and go up to 100 Longbows, instead of running around with 30 at a time. That would've bought time. Again, this is the worst of both worlds: Socartes has no eco and is in the position that he needs to provide meatshield for Vipers Longbows. Viper has all the eco but no numbers, so the meatshield is getting smoked. And still, the situation could've been remedied had Viper used some of his unused 5k gold to for example build British Towers in the front, to support their advances or, even, to slow down the enemy advance. All in all, Socartes didn't play well - but neither did Viper. He overboomed, had tons of unused resources the entire late game and had no military numbers. He might be the GOAT, but he shouldn't be immune to critizism.
Viper: ASK
Kellar: space
Socartes: TREB

I remember watching that as a kid and it blew my mind, bc I never considered building more than 1 barracks
I see an hour long rage forest.. I click
"i hear mangonel shots" me convinced the Viper has gone crazy
Ptsd xD like a veteran from war
Lol, did you say oh yellow is probably pocket 😂
Well playing yellow and being in the flank 😂😂😂😂

I’d love to see all dismounted units of both generic and unique cavalary units.🙌🏻 Dismounted Paladin must look cool🙌🏻

you dont ever need 47 farmers with britons, slinging or not.
yeah, green just needed to throw shit in front and didn't do it for the longest time, unfortunately
Green should made SO. Could clean that CA so fast
Did theviper fight arch cavs & paladins at the same time with longbow?
Where is the aztecs army?
massive of long bow man is the advantage of briton instead of keep on feeding your allies i think
why not shift click the cav archers at a point?
Allies might get half bonus from centurions, then it could be balanced and nice
Yo viper i love the long vids just asking how bout u put 2 matches together maybe not rage forest but 1v1s
Great game!

47:18 why on earth does that skorp on the left micro itself? I dont get it.
Best scorpion brain ever
Yo carried hard lol
Should have delete that many vills in late imp

disagree on centurions buffing champions, not bc of balance or anything, just bc it ruins my Julius Caeser cosplay.

Would Centurions buff allied lines with the 10x shared tech mod?
How was green that freaking bad couldny even keep units on field despite being slung
