So cool, as a vegan I love Stella McCartney of course. The mylo frame bag is currently on my wishlist.

I loved this battle royal … and finally I also own the winning bag 🎉! I don’t know whether you have taken a look at Vivienne Westwood bags, too, as she actually has quite a few vegan offerings. The classic Yasmine bag is probably one of my favourite shapes, especially if it comes with a tartan print (can anything be more Vivienne than that?). And I have to admit … I guess Vivienne would have beaten the Telfar shopping bag 😂 in my book. We are all biased after all 😉 and that’s ok!

Wow this review of materials got deep! Who knew some green washing would be hiding colonialism?! Half Filipina here who is fully offended. 🇵🇭
I want to be ethical, but I don’t think vegan leathers have convinced me yet that they are.
What do you think about claims that they are environmentally responsible for using by-products of food waste?

lmao you should write slogans that’s amazing 💖💖
It literally was so funny watching it back cus the whole time i was filming i was like no let me stay as close to surface level as possible and then that happened hahahah
I mean i think any time we can reuse, repurpose, etc is great, especially with materials that have a smaller carbon footprint than others (iirc aluminum is pretty good to recycle, for example) but to me the true issue is overconsumption and overproduction in general. sure the pineapple leaves from piñatex would have been waste anyways, but let’s think about why we have so much of these waste byproducts. do we need this much pineapple in our lives? with how much food waste in general that exists idk…

@@hellsborough It really is about overconsumption (and overproduction). 😞
Incidentally, leather makes the same claims about using by-products of food production. 🤷‍♀️
I need to learn more. Seems like several of my leather purses have quite a plasticky feel, even though they aren’t patent leather.
Then ofc there is all of the carbon emissions shipping new stuff all over the globe.
True environmental impact is going to take a shift in how we organize economies-like more of a shift to services.
