    I was always intrigued by this place as a kid. We had a teacher who told us there are parts of Antarctica that are off limits even to the scientific research centres based there, and that you would have to take detours that lasted for miles to get around certain areas. I always remember him saying " When people dont want you to see something, its normally because they are afraid of how others will react." Always stayed in my head that has since the age of 10.

      Antarctica is the gateway to a part of the earth that exists highly evolved humans. They have highly sophisticated technology, and they essentially farm us. I seen it with my own eyes in 1983 and 1989.

      Can u elaborate?

    • @keturaequalizer
      @keturaequalizer 11 месяцев назад +17

      @@TylerM-u2x Britain, France, Norway and Germany own the antartica. Britain was the first to claim part of the land there in the 1800. The other countries followed suit later. In 1959 Argentina and Chile claimed the land within the British territory. That is still an on going battle to this day.
      Norway has alot of say and making the rules in the Antartica as they have permanent bases with researchers, scientisits and engineers working there all year round. They are also a humaritarian nation and are preserving and protecting the animals there and keeping and eye on the environmental movements.
      So these are the countries who decide weather to open or close the Antartica. Its said that its melting big time due to the environmental changes on earth. Nobody knows what is under that ice and snow. Maybe in the future they might find minerals and oil?! Its a political game.

    Technically, you can go to Antarctica, it's just that you won't be supported when you get there. Without support, ie food, fuel, maintenance and so on, you can't survive for long. Outside of the scientific bases set up by the various nations there is no infrastructure and the environment is very hostile to life. I remember when I was there a guy flew down in a small private aircraft and landed at our base. He was refused fuel and any other support other than to get a bite to eat and use the bathroom, so he had to turn around and fly home. He had just enough fuel to get back to Tierra del Fuego, otherwise he would have had to have left the aircraft there and pay to get it shipped back at his own expense.

    The only requirements to visit Antarctica are a permit and passport. Tourism companys usually take care of the permit, but you can personally obtain one on your own. This is the permit form for US citizens. You will need to complete a DS-4131 ADVANCE NOTIFICATION FORM - TOURIST AND OTHER NON-GOVERNMENTAL ACTIVITIES IN THE ANTARCTIC TREATY AREA. A simple Google search will confirm this.

    • @Weathernerd27
      @Weathernerd27 8 месяцев назад +2

      Alot more people would die of cold if they did that the average temperature is -70. Also how do you build a city on constantly shifting ice where a big crevasse can open up and swallow an entire building? You hear stories about the ice melting but that only happens on the more northerly parts of the coast most of Antarctica is always way below freezing. Antarctica is a desert the annual snowfall is only a few inches even though only a small percentage of antarctica is melting the snow doesn't pile up very fast so the ice sheet is losing mass and the rate of mass loss will only increase as the ice gets thinner.

    It's interesting that humans haven't had any trouble colonizing harsh climates, including the Sahara and Siberia, yet this continent for some reason seems to be highly restricted, except for a few carefully guided tours of a small peninsula. There's something odd about this level of restriction that raises suspicion about why exactly they don't want anyone sniffing around.

      My curiosity is along that same vein. Is the current belief that the mass of accumulation was over millions of years at the same rate, varying precipitation levels over the years or formation of ice from the sea due to extreme low temperatures? Seems like decades of research in the region would have addressed that question.

    The absolute irony of that cartoon at the beginning. Notice the stars are shifting as the view does! If the globe is shifting so drastically to get a 24 hour sun in Antarctica for the seasonal tilt why doesn't the rest of the celestial bodies ever move with it! Polaris stays above the north, All the rest of the stars remain in their exact rotations all year every Year Never parallax shifting past one another! The globe's description makes absolutely NO sense! Especially adding in the elliptical globe orbit as well with the tilt, There should be Massive parallax shifting in the stars!

    You know, nobody ever said we aren't allowed to visit Antarctica, people just assume this. Antarctica is owned by no country, there are no laws preventing anyone from going there. The only things preventing anyone from going, is money and the lack of equipment and the lack of a ship. People who have all of those things, simply don't care to go to the coldest place on Earth. You can go to Antarctica, right now, nothing is stopping you. You want to go, go then. Oh wait, you don't have money, equipment or a ship. And even if you were going to go, it's too f*cking cold, you can hardly handle 18 degrees celcius which is considered warm.
