@@memorycamp4990 Yeah I was down there a couple months ago and saw plenty. Seems like a nice place to swim and worth the risk. Do you just toss some steaks over to the other side of the pond before you jump in? I always camp at least one night in Ocala on my way to and from Florida. It's probably the easiest place to show up any time of day or night and automatically find a decent spot to camp in the state.
Id go on a weekday during the winter/spring time. Too hot and buggy in the summer but doable. Weekends its busy but lots of campsites to get away from ppl
@@memorycamp4990 thanks for answering, I live in Wisconsin and do a lot of hiking, hunting and camping but my wife and I are moving to Florida. I've only recently become aware of this freshwater amoeba and I know its usually "warmer" waters that it lives in but I'm not really certain about the particular conditions that it exists and I didn't know if it was a general concern for outdoor goers. Thanks again!
That was very nice!
You should do a backpacking vid! Id love to see that !!
@@joeyparanoia7708 Backpacking huh.Hmm??? Others have suggested and it'll be a change from island camping, yeah maybe I'll try it
Good stuff !...thanks for sharing...Have been to Hidden Pond many a time....
Very busy on weekends but tons of space and hidden spots. I’d go on a weekday if possible. Bugs aren’t bad until June
What’s the location of the this? Off of Sr19 near 40? I live 15min from Alexander
I grew up around there
I went with my dad a couple years ago and my dad told me about Leo boatman and it scared the crap out of me
Make sure to always send the dog into Florida ponds to check for Alligators before you swim.
No need to check. They're in every body of water here, natural or manmade.

Boom
Great video! Does it get busy a lot there? Do you stay away from weekends and summer months?

Can you swim there ?
Yes. It’s an untouched spring fed pond. Beautiful spot.
do you worry about the freshwater amoebas?
This is spring fed. The water is 70 degrees year round. Too cold for amoebas to thrive.
