My Mom is from Italy (and I'm a dual US/Italian citizen) and I hated having to speak two languages growing up (especially since the only people around me who spoke Italian were family who also spoke English), but I am so grateful that I can speak multiple languages today. Knowing Italian actually made it easier for me to learn Spanish when I moved to Texas and I'm working on learning French now.

I was sure you were Italian-American, your English is so good. And that's not me being a condescending native xD I'm Swedish, and non-native-sounding English is the norm from Europeans in my experience. Which isn't bad or strange, pronunciation and intuitive grammar comes easier to some and some don't care about it - which is fair enough. It just always makes me happy to hear people ace non-native languages for some reason. 😁
