The Untold Story of Neoslavery After the Civil War Slavery Under a Different Name, According to Douglas Blackmon of the Wall Street Journal, slavery in the United States did not cease with the Emancipation Proclamation in 1862. He claims that it persisted for another 80 years, during a "Age of Neoslavery."
What state was the last to free slaves?
Slavery died legally in New Jersey on January 23, 1866, when Marcus L. Ward of Newark signed a state Constitutional Amendment that effectively ended slavery in the state in his first official act as governor. - Кино

Will knows how Blacks are. This "slave" movie is meant to get back into good graces with them. Django in Chains was not good enough, but this movie was?
@@thespadestable Or it could be meant like a job, just another movie for which he is getting paid.
@@khaledfarid4712 -
No, it means Will is fishing for relevancy. Slave movies for the most part are degrading for Black actors, but are done by up and coming actors, struggling actors, or actors whose careers are in their twilight of coming to an end. Will could not wrap his head around the concept of The Matix, he did not desire to be second billing in Django, demanded a larger salary to play opposite of Nickolas Cage in Snake Eyes, and thought he was too big to star in Joel Schumacher's movie, Phone Booth.
He milked Men in Black, Bad Boys took 13 years between II & III to closeout, romantic comedies/romantic drama are not his cup of tea, and the action movie genre are no longer big draws. So, all he's left is doing a version of Training Day, an All-Black version of The Big Chill, or what he eventually did do....A Slave Movie.
Does it slap though?
Yes 🗿
@@reflixoriginals you know black people was slave masters Africa is still doing slavery that's worse than white supremacy🐵🍗🦧🐒🤣💯🤷♂️🤔🤯🤯🌎🌍💰😈👹
I saw roots in google 👍
why do they keep making these types of movies
To EDUCATE WHITES!
Because racism still exists ,you need to address why racists still exist and this story helps people understand the disgraceful cruelty and how even today people commit the same vile attricities
Good question it's a disgrace. People would do anything for that almighty dollar. They have history books if people are that interested . Yeah racism still exist but these movies do nothing to defeat it
@@hakimnelson2271 oh do they make you feel uncomfortable
@@seanjeeva2012 No they don't . All I'm saying is if you're really that interested go to the library . They make these type of movies over and over and nothing changes it's slavery. People died ,raped, whipped same as every other one. Only reason Will did this movie is to try and win an Oscar because they mainly give them people who acted as slaves.
Will Smith? hahaha....
Will not watch anything with will Smith. What he did to Chris , how he humiliated him....can't get past that.
U sound stupid as f#%k. Why u take the time to watch this or give a comment. If u don’t have anything nice to say then keep yo comments to yourself.
He apologized & it was a honesty mistake out of his whole career. he shouldn’t be judged over a simple mistake. So keep yo negative a#% comment off his videos & anything Else he does. U think he care about yo simple minded a%#. U act like u haven’t made a single mistake out your life. How would u feel if the whole world shut u out because of a single mistake u made. so don’t make him feel like sh#% when he’s one of the greatest & smartest actors today & for the past 3 decades.
It’s not your fight just let go and make yourself happy
@@mynamenapresh7853 exactly, people interfere so much into celebrity's lives.
@@nelsonkiiru7252 amen. These niggas should get over it and move on. 💯
It's God's job to judge someone, ours is to forgive. Imagine someone holding up a grudge against you for a mistake you made for a moment...
Will Smith treated Chris Rock like a slave. Won’t be watching anything with Will Smith.
Like you've never slapped someone before
@@christophersmith3254 Oh Chris. . .
@@christophersmith3254 Don’t be a Huckstering Snake Oil Salesman for Will Smith.
Nice fiction
Disappointed with acting…. Too much of the same grimace as it,were? It’s like every clip he has the same expression?
must be because he feels pain the whole movie ?
@@luanapaiiva -
He drew from the pain he's lived through being married to Jada for 2 decades.
Damn calling Lincoln; Will Better Call, Sal.
Considering the period piece it reflects I'd say the grimaces were on point. None of us can even remotely comprehend the horrors of slavery.
The film was supposed to reflect the day to day BAD that slavery actually was.
Well let me ask you Maria Fletcher just what kind of expression would you expect someone experiencing this kind of torment to be displaying? When I first saw this I was so impressed with this because a Black person today is not actually acting out a scene but relaying for the long gone slaves who yelled and screamed but were simply ignored only because they weren't relevant to be heard. If someone was to have an interest in making a movie about Emmitt Till would you expect the actor to keep his facial expressions consistent? It difficult to watch history today so maybe we should resort to just reading about with a straight face.
@Talos to be fair history has usually been altered nearly all the history based films are fictional and untrue
