I remember back in the 1930's when Walt Disney planned to make a Peter Rabbit movie, but Beatrix Potter denied permission because she didn't want her works to be adapted to film. Thinking about *these* Peter Rabbit movies make me wish to live in an alternate timeline when Potter gave Disney permission to make a Peter Rabbit movie. Yeah, there'd be a live-action remake that would maybe be slightly better than these movies but still unnecessary, but the animated movie would be as timeless as Disney's other movies.
These Peter Rabbit movies ONLY exist because some producer saw how incredibly charming the Paddington Bear movies were and said "I want money too, what British children's character can we rip off"

This might be the most infuriating example of a meta fourth wall joke that I've ever seen. It's like the writers just bent over and farted directly into your face, laughing the entire time. The nerve. The fucking nerve to make this rabbit turd of a movie and then think a fourth wall joke is justified or even should be used in an empty corporate sellout film of a simple and beloved book series. It just...wow. I think the reason the joke pisses me off so much is that it IS possible for a cheesy kids movie to make the joke without feeling like it just directly insulted its own audience. Take the original Space Jam. Space Jam makes it clear right out of the gate that this is a silly movie with zany antics in which the normal rules of the universe don't necessarily apply. When they make the fourth wall joke with the psychic, it lands perfectly because the premise is SO ludicrous that it fits perfectly because it's the Looney Tunes. It's in the name. You knew what you signed up for: loony antics. So it's actually IN on the joke itself. The movie mocks itself because it KNOWS it's there to sell shit, but it's still bothering to offer you entertainment. Space Jam has scenes that are at least funny and creative and while it's by no means good, it still gave you what you came here to see: silly cartoons and silly antics. It fits the tone and the intent. Hell, you could argue the premise itself is meta given that it's a universe where the Tunes exist and are aware of the real world and that they can bounce between those realities at will, so they're aware of themselves as well as the entertainment industry. At least it's consistent. And what is this crap in Peter Rabbit 2? Horrible CGI with a horrible actor making pathetic pop culture references and "jokes" that even SNL would leave on the cutting room floor. There's a part of me that wants to give this film some credit for it's self-awareness on what a mess of modern appealing that gets across little to no sense of the timeless charm of the character the first film was, but also that this isn't exactly much of an improvement on it's own terms when you take the meta out of it. Most damning thing is still to say these could have been the films Paddington could have become.

Finally it's here.
Very lenient. If I were on this, I would've gone "James Corden." +230 Sins
That Green day song that they played in the movie. I haven't heard that song in over 10yrs since I was in middle school. So yeah I haven't heard that song since 2012. That was about the only thing I did enjoy about the movie and that's just depressing.
Never have seen it. Never will see it. Feel this is the best version of it😄.
I remember listening to an interview with the director who was like "We listened to all the criticism of the first one and used this to address it." Except you were still an American doing your take on an English story so you didn't listen that hard. Just spent 90+ mins winking at the camera.
5:13 Were just gonna ignore the fact that Peter literally tried to kill mr mcgregor destroyed his and Beas house all for some veggies. He totally is a bad seed
17:22 it looks like the rabbit is saying what cinema sins is
Now you made me think of naked people on a roller coaster. Thanks for that!! Now that visual will live in my head forever.
Ok it's funny, damn it, you guys are too talented.
Now let my 20 minutes of relaxation therapy continue 😌

Finally it's here
Wow. Truly beautiful. I was afraid to tap on it I thought it was gonna be naked people on a roller coaster but thank you for not doing that.
13:20 - Here's one second of a good film (I love old films, but even many more modern ones are better than the movie discussed in this video)
Love the new intro! 👍🏾
The phenomenon took me a few seconds to get. Hats off to you, ya clever bastard.
Fancy new intro!!!
I also like the new light-up Intro.
1:36 what if the name of the store isn't "McGregor's" as in "Belonging to McGregor." but "McGregors" as in "There is more than one McGregor here"?
LOVING THE NEW INTRO
Scotty, Bones and Kirk made me snort lmao
One of my favourite songs is played really quietly you can barely hear it in the middle of the movie. What was the point 😭
It's got James corden in it that makes it a complete no in my book
Another one of those stupidly funny movies that a Cinemasins video actually makes me want to watch...
I am glad I never knew these movies existed.
Never once, since the invention of the automobile has Richmond Bridge been that empty of traffic! Ding!
The only thing I can appreciate about this movie is that Peter rabbit was less of a douche
Despite Peter's family being annoying as hell in this one, I honestly agree.
13:48 we say a deer caught in headlights here... And a torch yeah but that makes no sense
Are we not going to talk about the weird CGI that happens at 19:16 ? It’s like the Blade II opening fight scene but less important somehow
Tell me you overthink things without telling me you overthink things
My prediction for next week's sins: The Commuter and Train To Busan

Finally it's here.
One thing i learned from random people sadly theres not as many classic cars in the UK as movies say
12:05 you only say stone if it weighs a lot there are 14lbs in a stone, so if it’s three lbs then you would not use stone to measure it
👏
good point also they arent even asking for the weight they say how much is it as in how much does it cost
5:42 got me crying 🤣🤣
These movies have...completely obliterated the cherished childrens books. It makes me so furious.
