    WHAT IF I’m on daily antivirals and I feel slight tingle but don’t get an outbreak. Does that mean I’m more likely to be shedding?

    • @lifewithherpes
      @lifewithherpes  3 года назад +2

      It could be. If you doesn't feel right, it is good to avoid being intimate with your partner until it passes. Tingling could mean the virus is active.

    • @jammarvida5626
      @jammarvida5626 Год назад

      Hello. Is the tingling sensation can be felt in the arms or whole body?

  • @livingchilling2217

    This is the video you recommend me yesterday!! 👌👌 thanks for sharing!
    So basically if I didn't have skin to skin contact but i shared a hooka with someone who was shedding at the time I have less chances of getting the virus, because it wasn't skin to skin contact? I mean there is a risk i know because of some saliva particles but the odds of contracting the virus is less then sharing a prolong kiss or skin to skin contact?
    I've asked other people and they say that it can't be pass from sharing a drink or straw with someone who is shading because it has to be skin to skin to get it cuz the virus is really weak and unstable that it dies outside the body or because there is not enough virus in the area they touch with their mouth for someone else to get it... I mean, as I said there is a risk, but really low than if you had contact skin to skin?... the channel i got that info from is called... "The STI project" ... thanks so much for the info, I know its kinda hard to answer this kinds of questions, I guess it really depends on how lucky the person is right!

    • @lifewithherpes
      @lifewithherpes  3 года назад +1

      Hey! So, yes, what you're saying is correct. Outside the body the virus cannot survive for more than a few seconds, but it can still be passed by sharing utensils or drinks, even though, chances are not nearly as high as with skin to skin contact.

    I was wondering if we're least likely to be infectious 2-3 weeks after an outbreak? (Realizing there are never any "guarantees".) Have you ever seen any research on this? Presumably, after the outbreak it would head back to being dormant. I've never seen any data on the coordination, connection, or lack thereof, between outbreaks and viral shedding.

    • @lifewithherpes
      @lifewithherpes  Год назад +1

      As far as we know there's no rule. Some people get back to back outbreaks, and while one ends, another one comes up. So, probably it mostly depends on your immune system. A strong IS will be better at handling herpes dormant.

      Many things, from your diet, stress, sleep, etc. can help. You can also try different antivirals.

    How can it not get in the way of going on with your life and have children? It means my partner would have to be unprotected and exposed to me :(

    • @douglasmiller1212
      @douglasmiller1212 Год назад

      I agree, it "shouldn't" get in the way of going on with your life but it certainly does. I'm widowed and before herpes I would get interest from women on dating sites, after herpes it's crickets chirping. With disclosure in my profile no one responds. If I wait until after a couple dates I just end up wasting time and energy and prolong the time until rejection. It really shrinks an already slim demographic ... In a way, once you have it it's at least relatively no big deal. However, no one I've found who doesn't have it yet has any interest in getting "no big deal". Plus, it is a big deal to many people who get frequent outbreaks. With all due respect and with appreciation for their work in building community, the two women I know of who are renowned spokespeople for this are young and attractive. For those of us average folks, the reception isn't so welcoming and abundant.

      5% each encounter. Meaning if you sleep with a herpes person 20 times you are 100% going to get it.

    Its really frustrating that people who talk about herpes don't tell you that you can get hsv2 on the mouth and genitals and hsv1 on the genitals and mouth I have hsv1 but on my genitals 4 minutes in to this video and already misinformation which adds to the stigma massively

      @Jessica carol stop pedalling snake oil cures as yes it is a virus that cannot be cured u can deal with outbreaks and in some cases prevent and stop them but you still have asymptomatic shedding it cannot be cured you should be ashamed of yourself for preying on people's desperation

    Could you talk about how you can pass it onto a baby after they’re born I had a C-section but I know I still have to be careful with him by not kissing him and washing my hands constantly I don’t know can you just give me some advice on that please!

    • @lifewithherpes
      @lifewithherpes  2 года назад

      Hi. Your baby needs your kisses and your hugs. It will be far more damaging if he never got those than him getting herpes. I know it may sound scary, but herpes is really common and he could get it throughout his life easily. You can transmit with skin to skin contact, so if you have genital herpes, your baby won't just come into contact with it.

    • @lifewithherpes
      @lifewithherpes  3 года назад +2

      Shedding as in time when you can transmit virus to others. Viral shedding is asymptomatic which means there are no symptoms or signs.
