    Unreal, he was a violent offender already without punishment, justice system also needs to be held accountable. We law abiding, hard working, tax payers get more of a punishment for parking a extra 3 minutes on the streets than he did for attacking people with a crowbar severely disfiguring one!
    RIP

      It's Canada, our justice system values 'rehabilitating' criminals over our safety and the most disgusting part of it all, is it's illegal to carry anything that can be used for self defense, nu gun, no taser, no mace, we're suppose to just use a whistle and hope the perp gets spooked.

    I'm so sick of our justice system. Why on earth would anyone ever consider letting those monster's walk free ever again. It's not the kind of crime you can forgive unless justice is served. Justice is not served if either of them wind up walking. That's a slap in the faces of the Loved Ones left behind. If you take a life, you should forfeit your own right to live freely amongst society. It's not rocket science. They deserve life in prison. No parole. When you figure out how to give second chances to murder victims, then we'll consider second chances for the perpetrators. They showed her no mercy. They deserve a life sentence for what they did. Life as in life behind bars with no chance of getting away with their crimes with loopholes in the system, and dancing around justice with wording and manipulation of the law..

    Ah Geez....my bucket of tears is overflowing! Especially after hearing those heartfelt and beautiful words from her husband at the end. I hope he and his girls are doing ok and law school is going well. Sounds like mom really left her mark on her children. Bless them!
    I don't understand why the jury could not hear the past crimes of the accused. Doing that allows offenders to get away with serial crimes. Crimes that become more violent over time. Just like in this case. We need to stop letting juveniles off the hook so easily just because of their age.
    Teenagers make stupid decisions sometimes. But they all know right from wrong and are capable of making good decisions. But the legal system insists they are not capable enough to suffer the consequences of their actions. They get a slap on the wrist instead. It is then that their criminal careers begin. Because it can. We almost impose it on them.
    The legal system has to give young people a chance to not repeat crimes by giving them harsher sentences the very first time they commit an offense. This time in a controlled setting allows them to successfully complete rehab and mental healthcare, continued education, and learn how to be normal, lawful citizens. Set them up for success, not failure. We're not doing good enough right now. This beautiful woman lost her life because of the legal systems failings. We need to do better.

    Isn't it something. But what I find striking is how basic the killers were: left a ton of fingerprints, found in possession of stolen cellphones, etc. Also: once again, a case that tells you to NEVER leave any window open. I know several other cases where an open window lead to a crime.
    Don't go into the woods, don't leave any window open, don't ever leave the doors to your car unlocked when you're inside, don't walk with headphone if you're a woman and alone. Have a quick way to tell if someone's entered your place when you're absent, bc killers can be waiting inside for you to come home.

    • @emijacqueline
      @emijacqueline 2 года назад

      They probably forgot it was open. Doing all the construction and renovation. If you knew anything about the case you know they would dead lock the front door and side door which both were at the time of this attack. Don’t play the part of holier than thou because you’ve watched a few of these and a window was open. Have some compassion. Write a book if you think you are giving so much good advice. Everything you are saying is common knowledge. If it wasn’t her it would have been someone else.

      Where are women safe? shopping, at home, walking, in a car, by themselves, in groups? no all those places women have been attacked. Instead of focusing on limiting where and what women can do even more than it is already, how about we focus on the mostly men perpetrating these crimes. Let out time and again only to escalate. Coddled drug users who have made the choice to become drug addicts and aided by gov't programs in a woke "poor them" attitude that leaves neighbourhoods destroyed and crime in their path.

    I really hate that “better to drink than do drugs” attitude as if alcohol isn’t a drug because it’s legalized and profited from. Nothing has made me as stupid, reckless, irritable and rude as alcohol has. That’s just me. And as a recovering addict- drinking alcohol would absolutely make me more likely to use drugs not stay away from them! Obviously any drugs including alcohol (or any cocktail of drugs) can technically encourage someone to commit a violent crime if they’re a bad person to begin with. Thank god the children were left untouched by them that night.. can only imagine what would have happened if one woke up and tried to check on their mother. That beautiful family was torn apart by these completely worthless monsters.
    I do wish since Canada doesn’t have the death penalty, that they’d replace it with a longer life sentence like min 40-50 years instead of 25 and no parole obviously.

But I can see how hard it is for the father. That I can feel his pain. We all know how painful being beaten by a steal bar must of been. So sad for this family.

      kids can sleep through quite a lot of noise especially not right next to them. They woke up not to the "opening" of the door but it being banged open. Likely the father panicking opened it pretty 'aggressively' wanting to see if the kids were okay. And then of course there is the part where no matter what was done to her the mother may have tried to stay quiet to protect her children. (If they wake up and come out they could end up where she was)

    • @takahiro5528

    If this was the American police they would immediately blame the husband and try and force a confession out of him. The Canadian police conduct a professional investigation without using the Reid Technique to go for the 'most likely' suspect. The husband must have gone through hell, he was incredibly strong in telling his story. My heart went out to the children and husband.
