Agree with your perspective on Arch. Everyone acts like being a Manning means this kid has had it easy with everyone cutting him slack. I disagree. I think being a Manning just puts more pressure on him. He will be overly analyzed, thoroughly scrutinized, with constant comparisons to his Uncles…what they did and when they did it. I hope he has a good thick hide because he’s gonna need it.

You are correct at the collegiate level. But i would argue him being a Manning got him a much higher composite rating out of highschool than he should have had. If he was a nobody he probably would have been a 3 star QB, not 5 star top 3. So its worked both ways for him.

*Arch has been overrated way before he even committed to Texas. Some people clearly don't really watch football. They all keep exposing their self. Arch played at a mediocre class in Louisiana. They do not play any real competition. I know Odel and the other Mannings went there so what. Arch has displayed a bad arm. Arch has been playing against future corporate America executive not talented athletes. Arch really had bad stats during his last to years. He lost in the first round of the playoff and threw for under 90 yards. He lost 49 to 12. These kids get protected by fake football fans who do not watch. Being a Groupie dose not equate you to a sports fan.*

A realistic Texas fan here. I get the doubt, I have it as well. I think the reason they were selected 1) Texas is a huge fanbase and the media survives on clicks, more fans, more clicks 2) With the new format, if UT wins the big12 this year, they are automatically in. I get that the big12 has been a rollercoaster the last few years with dark horses immerging like the freak'n end of days. But with Texas finally recruiting lineman, an elite receiving core and what everyone hopes is a breakthrough year for Ewers; it does look like a possibility. As a Texas fan, I have learned to shut my mouth about who we once were and am waiting to see the culture fixed and actual progress before I can legitimately argue for their eliter status again.

Arch played in the Spring game as I expected. When you consider all of the other top QB recruits in the country purposely competed in the highest level of competition possible like Division 6A in Texas, Georgia, FL, CA, etc while Arch chose to compete in about the lowest possible competitive division, 3A in Louisiana it’s impossible to make a good apples to apples comparison. I watched his recruiting films and it looked like he was playing against Junior High School kids. The speed and talent just wasn’t there. It looked like the defenses were playing in slow motion. It would have been interesting to see what the stats of players like Jackson Arnold and others would have been if they had competed all year in Div. 3A in Louisiana. There is a giant leap from 3A in LA to 6A in Texas. It’s a giant leap regardless of what State you’re competing in from 3A to 6A. It’s not just a one division change but a full 3 division change. I’m actually surprised Arch played as well as he did when you consider the change in the level of competition he is having to adjust to. I’m upset because UT didn’t even try to recruit the no. 1 QB in their own state like Jackson Arnold and instead went all in on a QB who played 3A ball in Louisiana. Same thing they did when they recruited Simms. And we kno how that worked out.

He also almost won the Heisman Trophy his true freshman year but got cheated because he was a freshman. Best true freshman football player ever i would say. And I haven't seen anyone that has been able to do anything like that. And that true freshman played for an absolute power house college with, there's only ONE OKLAHOMA, BOOMER SOONERS

There's a difference between winning because you're good (Alabama) and winning upsets at home on a Consistent basis. Auburn stands far above the rest of the crowd here. One yardstick of how much the home crowd affects the game is penalties. LSU, Texas A & M and Florida also have a history of big upsets. Who better to look at than Alabama's struggles in recent years
    Sat, Sep 18, 2021 @Florida W31-29 (11penalties for 75 yards)
    Sat, Oct 9, 2021 @Texas A&M L41-38 (8 penalties for 82 yards)
    Sat, Nov 27, 2021 @Auburn W24-22 4OT (11 penalties for 129 yards)
    Sat, Sep 10, 2022 @Texas W20-19 (15 penalties for 100 yards)
    Sat, Oct 15, 2022 @Tennessee L52-49 (17 penalties for 130 yards)
    Sat, Nov 5, 2022 @LSU L32-31 OT (9 penalties for 92 yards)
When I looked at the pre-season schedule w/o the who's Home and Away info listed, ... Alabama - Tennessee and Georgia - Tennessee ... I saw the wins going to the home team

I can only speak for myself. When i hear people talking about "home field advantage".... my mind just goes ????? When i played it made 0 difference "where" I was. Most of the time a player becomes so focused on whats going on on the field that the sound in the stadium is totally blocked out. Also it never depended on where i was, i always gave it my very best effort. I think most players feel the same way. I think we all get caught up in the romanticism of the home field advantage .... but in reality i dont think its much of an advantage either way. Players always give their best effort no matter where they play. The home field advantage is primarily psychological for the fans. (Just my opinion)....
