It's a little switch that when released allowed current to pass trough causing the door to open

Hi Mike,
No software. The actuator has built in limit switches. With 12vDC applied it extends fully and stops. Reverse the polarity, and it retracts and stops. So the Capacitive NPN Proximity Sensor (connected to the charging base) triggers the opto relay, which triggers the larger DPDT relay that reverses the polarity to the actuator. Door stays open when robot is out, and closes on return.
