Yes. in fact they carried over these kinds of "new age" products which pretend to heal you with "ions". So we cannot even say that they are lying about ion emission because radioactive materials do emit ionizing radiations! :-D
It always amazes me that these products contain radioactive components at all. Their target consumers are unlikely to be technical enough to have a geiger counter available to check. And it must be more expensive to manufacture then if they just told people it was radioactive, when it wasn’t.
I wouldn't even open the package or flex those unless it was on plastic sheet that could be bundled up and disposed of. And placing them in contact with your measurement equipment is a great way to crap up your test gear.

Measure the resistance... The primary leads will have a much higher resistance than the output leads will. Once you've found the primary, power it up, measure the voltages, and the output and feedback windings will be obvious.

VPTec They emit a lot more positive ions (alpha particles) than negative ones (beta-minus particles), ironically

It's an excellent way to dispose of hazardous material waste; describe it creatively and people pay you to take it off your hands.
They took the "What doesn't kill you make you stronger" citation literally
lets make footpads that wear down super fast and fill them with thorium powder so it releases when the plastic wears

Your Tesla Coil and other videos have been really good at explaining how to choose the right components for our own builds.

no.
must check out the schematic's for those counters

please give us schematic of your Geiger detector

If there's enough, it will..
it doesn't have much to do with the video but, would you know to say how to identify the primary, auxiliary and secondary of a ferrite transformer?
