Someone tapped our shoulder about your post. Gorgeous and stellar board. Beautiful patches too. There are so many companies out there making great effects. Thank you for putting us at the top.
Not a fan of how so many gear-heads can’t give a compliment without also saying something negative. Instead of saying something arrogant like “this guy can actually play, unlike most CCM guys” or arguing about clean vs. dirty… why can’t we just compliment this dude who is clearly passionate about tones.
This board/tones are legit some of my favorite. I learned a lot from this video! Thank you for what you do!
Nah
Love this run through, and really enjoyed watching you blow up on IG. Ordered a prickly pear, and excited to see how it feels! Thanks for all the info and sounds you put out across the platforms 🫶
This was a master class in so many things. Learned a TON! Thank you!
Big win. Tell whoever did your video that they absolutely crushed the vibe. Colors and lighting and everything. Stellar. And of course, no surprise, you sound impeccable. Thanks for this!
Watching this made me fall in love with pedals/tone again - thanks for everything you do!
Honestly one of my favorite board builds. Perfectly simple yet complex and room for adjusting drives. Love it!
Sick board, sick sounds, bro! I switched my amp to the end of my chain last night (HX stomp) after watching this. What a difference it made! So much more tone options with volume control now! Thanks for showing us your rig!
This is literally the best tone I’ve ever heard in my life. Thanks for inspiring me to sell my whole board 👍🏻
I love how this was not “edited”. Great video! Epic tone. 🔥
It’s nice to have someone step into the P&W place who
1. Can actually play
2. Isn’t trying to sell me their IR’s/Presets
3. Isn’t doing the same thing as all the big names.
Good stuff bro.
But isn't he is doing exactly what everyone else is doing? It sounds great, but let's not pretend this is a unique approach to guitar effects. I do appreciate that he's not trying to sell us stuff (at least, not on this video)!
clearly there is a message from him in this video...did you not read his hat?
Let’s not give compliments through put downs to other creators man, it’s just not productive.
P&W... Prayer and worship? My algorithm must be busted, I only listen to the most heretical and blasphemous metal while staring at my poster of Richard Dawkins
this comment did not age well
Those tonies are cookin bro! I'ma try goosing mine tonight! The board is awesome, but your playing is what really shines, so much tone in your hands.
Dude, this was awesome and inspiring. Gonna be messing with my sounds after this for sure. Much appreciated!
Fwiw, my wife has an ongoing battle with one of our older sound techs about her clean tone being "too dirty." Of all of our bass players, her tone gets the most compliments and sounds appropriately huge/small when needed. Dirty is the new clean fo sho 🤘🏻
Love the board bro!! you have a great ear and super insightful! can't wait to have you back on the channel again :)
I very much enjoyed this. Love the individuality and “you-ness.” I embrace the midi thing and the preset-per-song thing; however, I’m not so dogmatic about that stuff where I’m unable to admit that there’s other approaches that work just as well-your approach being a shining example. Your sound is phenomenal and your playing style is unique. Inspiring and entertaining. Thank you for sharing. God bless!
Thank you for this bro! 🥹 I’ve been an analog guy for years. Felt the pressure of going digital (like everyone else). My ✨budget amps ✨ couldn’t compete with their new IR’s and amp sims. So I went with a Helix Floor, downloaded presets, and ditched my board to keep up with the new wave.
Watching your videos on Instagram and now seeing this (highly anticipated pedalboard walkthrough) I’m definitely inspired again to potentially go back to an actual pedalboard with some new ideas! 🙏🏼 so thank you again for doing this!
Killer tone man. And it’s YOURS. It doesn’t sound like every other worship guitarist’s (which is huge for me); I don’t want to sound like everyone else - I also want to find MY sound. So well done 👏🏼 thank you for the walkthrough, knowledge, and inspiration! 🤙🏼
Incredible sounds man! Wonderful demo and awesome playing! Juicy!
Bro what in the world! Such a sick setup, and so unique sounding!
Sounds awesome! Well crafted board for your style of
Play!
I turned my amps up after watching this video. Best pedalboard rundown on this website 🤘🏻
Love your stuff man! Thanks for doing this. Those tones are wonderful! I need a mercury X.. 😭
Great rundown! I’ve always assumed my ambient tones should come from my reverb, but hearing what you can do with the LVX is making me rethink that notion. Thanks for sharing!
I had the same assumption once upon a time, but I’ve learned that using longer and unique delays helps extend your sound without burying it. Reverb helps to set your playing back in the mix. I’ve started trying to add in reverb at the end of the chain to tastefully put my already ambient tone in the right spot.
One of the best guitar tones I’ve heard in a long time. Truly inspired 😮
Wow! Amazing job! People usually don’t know how much effort (time, knowledge and money) is on the background... well done!
dude, this sounds INFREEAINGCREdIBLE!!
I’ve said it once I’ll say it again. Your dusey man sounds so goood ! Great board bro. Gotta stop by your church one day to hear you !
Great board. I really like what i hear and See 👀🔥🔥
Oh heck yeah. Building myself a new board. This is perfect.
Nice rig rundown Jake! I was on the fence about going Big Sky/Timeline combo, and I just ordered a Mercury X and LVX this morning because of this 😂. Cant wait for it to arrive and to try your patches for those two and the H90! I owe you some coffee money!
@meris.us
🙌🙌🙌 Thanks for the shoutout and for taking us along to Toantown! We appreciate your support bro!
this sounds very nice! wish i could be like you when i grow up
thanks homie :,)
Thank you for this brother
Jake, thanks for sharing this incredible build!
I’ve used my Stomp as an amp/cab for a while with outboard verb/delay and a couple of gain stages. Gotta say that Tonex is making me re-think that decision…
such a perfect build. i feel like selling every pedal i have and going for something along these lines.
Soooo good 🔥 Thanks for sharing this man. I'm sure a LOT of effort went into putting this together
This is awesome! Well done Jake!
thanks bubs :,)
This video sold me on the H90, 100%.
Too cool, too blessed brother 🤙🏼✨
Awesome board man! And howdy from from a fellow DFW Texan!
I have the Cali, it does make your low end flubby, but I love the pre-ampish quality of it, especially with digital amps! Prickly pear makes perfect sense after it to tighten it up!
friend, this clean is by far the best I've ever heard in my entire life. From the day I watched this video for the first time, I started looking for Tonex. That amp tone is crazy! I think I have a new reference, where I will redo all my tones after watching this video, be it amplifiers, compressor, overdrivers, ambiance, etc. Thanks for breaking my head. We can always overcome ourselves, Jesus deserves our best.
Here we go!
Sounds so good. Eventide and Meris stock just shot up 😂
bro, this is a great video. I wish I lived in Dallas, I would love your sounds on my songs.
That octave vibrato tone is sweet and smooth like syrup...
Can you say awesome one more time? lol
Nice set up man...great playing, awesome tone!😂
AWESOME
Love that sound
This is killer!
So good 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I'm gonna need a 3 hour long version of minute 38-40. Sounds heavenly dude.
You’re the coolest man! Any chance you take us through a master class on the H90 tones you have? You would bless many of us for sure!!!!
Best pedalboard I ever seen and heard
Amazing!
BEN YOU'RE THE BEST
Awesome content!
Fav shoes: Irish setters ashbys
Fav pedal: Digitech RPx400
Sorry but would somebody be able to help me figure out how to make a video where the audio on my mic is muted while I play the guitar and then unmuted when I want to talk? I feel like it’s so seamlessly done in these videos. I’m using OBS, but exporting everything into a video editing software is a pain idk how to get the audio tracks separate and then edit them all efficiently
Wow!!! Incredible video! Thank you ! You have given me so much inspiration. I pretty much run the same board just with Chase Bliss Preamp mk 2 and the UA Ruby. Right now i run the Ruby through the effects loop of the h90. Always thought running my wet after amp was always best sound but wow im definitely gonna try rerouting my board. Ill be that person and ask do you or would you ever put your presets from h90 and Mercury X and LVX on patchstorage???
Great tones
Thanks for the mention Jake!
heck yeah!
I need to check out the Mustang for sure!
Definitely! You might dig our Aerocomet too!@@fakejauber
NEEDS MORE POGS
Fellow DFW Guitarist here, nice rig dude!
Great board
Drip severe sonnn
That board is everything
Yesaaa
Kinda crazy how we're all so different. This is an amazing setup. Regarding the clean tone... going back to what I was saying about everyone being different, I like my clean tones to be squeaky clean... like JAZZ clean. So for that dirty clean I use either a Timmy, Lightspeed, or the boost side of a Golden Boy.
HAHA, i just got to the part of the video where you mention MIDI. I'm obsessed with MIDI. Like, I have just about everything Morningstar makes.
great vid thank you for sharing .. name of the echoplex pre and nobles? or is it custom ? sorry if I missed.. watching and listening while working
Hey Man! Really loved this video and the tone. Sounds so rich and surreal. Loved it! Did you make the junction box yourself with the powercon adapter? or was that bought from somewhere?
Seriously, first thoughts…best modeling sound I’ve ever heard.
(Beating out the multi fx boards: helix,Headrush, etc.)
I said it…let’s gooooo
I knew you would moved to a tiered pedalboard eventually! It's awesome!
Quick question: why the dmc micro instead of the dmc smart clock mini if you only use it for clock?
This is the tone I hear in my head
Nice! Whats ur settings on ur cali for always on!? Hard to see cause blacked out knobs
Sounds amazing!! How do you run your reverb? About how much mix and how much pre-delay? Thanks so much!
Very good! Can you make available the timbres used in the h90?
this dudes basically a master of dialing in a ton of gain and still letting chords ring clearly…
Sick board man! Your clean tone was super unique!
His "clean" tone is a basic overdrive sound. Sounds great, is not unique.
@@RUclipsaccount48473 it’s unique for a clean tone…plus it is super gritty, how about you get off ur phone and stop talking to teens u little creep
“You don’t need a ton of overdrive options, guys… you just don’t.”
*shows two double overdrives and a double preamp pedal into a crunchy amp *
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Great tone! Love hearing the setup, and the Tone Ranger stuff sounds really good. 👍
Can you run this board into 2 tube amps even with the Tonex’s on board? If so how? Is there a way to bypass the Tonex amp and cab with taking them off your board?
Question about the vol level in the KOT. I run my ODs similar too, low gain and push the volume about 1 oclock. How do you run your vol knob at max nearly and not have a huge jump in volume when engaging it?! Great tones man...
If the amps are running pretty hot all that volume just makes them break up more
Hey Jake! Do you midi clock your modulation or just your delays like before?
Man this board is 🔥! Quick question, is there always that like hum/buzz/ground or whatever the correct terminology is ? I’m not trying to say anything just genuinely curious and to see how to potentially mitigate that. 🤔
Would you ever share/sell your Meris presets? I have both these Meris pedals now. Love your tone
Super cool video Jake! Have you noticed any issues with the power brick being from the Mono power supply being near your pedals/cables? I'm considering getting one but I'm scared mounting the transformer under my board could introduce interference
I haven't had any issues!
The “Keeping up Appearances” reference was👌🏻😂
I'm not familiar? haha
@@fakejauber 90’s British sitcom. “It’s pronounced Bouquet” (spelled like Bucket) was the main characters main line about her last name. Whether you meant it or not, the British audience loved it lol
oh right on!!
Since you run everything into the front of the amps, how do you handle delay mix going way up when you add a lot of gain to the front?
that happens more when wets are post. the natural compression of the amp keeps the delay/reverb mix at bay.
Awesome! Purchased Teddy tones for H90 from you. Any instructions on this? Excited to get these presets loaded. Thanks for inspiring!
What’s your experience with the duesenberg ? Did you have to customize it ? Or did you have to change the pickups settings ? I have the paloma and for some reason the volume level and texture of the sound changes drastically when i switch pickup position.
fix your pickup height
@@fakejauber thank you!
You goin Buffered form the strobo into the cali76 ?
Is the strobo buffer so high quality enough to prepare the signal?
I just ordered a 29pedals EUNA to go into my Keeley Comp into my drives.
Hey Jake! love this rig so much, I'm new to Tonex and running 2 delays. My question is what is the routing after the vol pedal? looks like mono in mono out of the H90, but stereo into the the LVX. If I remember right you said you run the delays in series, H90 into LVX. How is this routed? Also as far as "stacking" delays in series i am assuming you run the quarter into the dotted 8th, correct? I currently split my signal after volume to Echosystem and Timeline and those feed reverb stereo in and stereo out to 2 tonex. Im not in love with my current setup and your getting what I heard in my head when I attempted my build. Sorry this long...you seem to have cracked the code, any help would be greatly appreciated. Side note, you made me realize im doing ambient wrong. I can't believe the ambient sounds your getting out of 2 delays stacked before even adding verb. I'm way too deep in verb for ambient stuff, gets way to washy and blurry. Thanks for any help!
Howdy Jake! Are the bad cat and matchless phase aligned or did you have to flip the polarity? Thx
taking a lot of inspiration from this, never knew how great delays could be. Whats the exact signal chain btw?
Still love this video.
For ever buzzing
I think I finally understand dual delay.
What case do you use for your spaceship? (pedalboard hehe)
hahaha pelican 1615
Can H90 do most of the delays in LVX?
Could you post more content on RUclips please? I recently deleted any social media because of my parents but also because it’s a personal distraction of mine. I know RUclips content takes more time to make but even if it’s just shorts like the reels you post on insta that would be amazing. I LOVE the tone!! Great stuff keep it up!!!
Which amp profile do you use in the two ToneXs? Great tones and great pedalboard bro!
My question exactly
i say the captures in the video
@@fakejauber I'm from Italy and don't understamd english very well. it means I will listen to the video more carefully next time.
@@FaberGT86 ah! i’m using BadCat Cub III and Matchless Independence captures!
@@fakejauber Thank you!
Killer tone @fakejauber. Do you run the eighth note into the dotted eight on the delay or the other way round? Inspirational sounds
.8th > 8th
I've always been an effects loop guy, but I've noticed all of my favorite tones I hear are people who run all effects in front of the amp. How do you play with your amps set to an edge of breakup tone and still get super lush but not overpowering reverbs/delays? I find if my amp is even slightly past perfectly clean, reverbs and delays get a little insane lol even when I drop the mix a pretty significant amount.
Alright I started actually using my compressor and that seemed to help lol. But still would love to get some insight on this as your reverb tones are SO good, even with a relatively driven starting point
I used to have this problem with reverbs. Either, just put the reverb in the loop, and everything else to the front, or get one with a feature to change pre delay. A longer pre-delay may be all you need, to hear the notes clearly, before they hit a more lush reverb.
But, he’s using one of the most expensive Reverb pedals there is. So, that’s a factor too.
I used the Metéore o low settings, between two delays, for many years. Never had an issue.
I’ve never been an effects loop guy, because I want the delay and verb to get my gain and mod pedals, not just the amp.
I use a pretty clean amps, so it makes delay and verb sound sterile in the loop, for my taste.
@@brandongullion6353
I never used a compressor, until getting the DSM & Humboldt ClearComp for a steal on clearance. It can be set to be barely there, but it adds a lot of sustain. It’s a studio style compressor, as I’ve tried the DynaComp and Keeley, among a few others, that just added noise and didn’t have any use but as a boost.
I don’t need the super squeezed sound. Though I can get it if I want it.
@@CorbCorbin I was wondering if maybe pre delay was part of it. I did toy around with that last night among other settings and got a bit more consistency. Probably gunna just require more tweaking since I’m used to it being in the loop haha. Appreciate the tips!
@@CorbCorbin Yeah I use the Cali76 comp mostly. Sometimes swap it out for a Mira. I had a DynaComp for a while and it definitely gives the overly squashed sound 😂
"LET'S PRAY!" LOL
man, thats so good. may i ask: don’t you find this “noise” a kinda annoying? i know that in a full band mix it’s absolutely not an issue, but does it bother you? again, this is GREAT.
if the buzz is what you're referring to, that's not normal. there's a massive light directly to my left for the video.
