About Us
We are Becka and Zach, a couple who, in 2020, dreamt of sailing off into the big blue. Trouble is- we were in a pandemic, had a university degree to finish, on a student budget, only had ever sailed dingies, oh and didn’t have a boat. The dream seemed not only unrealistic but pretty insane.
However, we worked hard, finished our degrees, worked as many hours as physically possible, saved with all our might, got experience and in March 2022 bought our very own sailboat, Teulu. Having little sailing experience and being a young couple, we have encountered a tonne of hurdles and made plenty of mistakes! but for every downfall, there has always been a reason to dust ourselves off and carry on.

You both, and I , live incredible lives, when there are a lot of people who struggle with terrible issues like health problems in live. But while we are healthy, we must go all out. I did, on land. You did, on the oceans. And still, I had terrible times and struggles in live, just like you have. Your videos let me enjoy those aspects of live that I could not get around to experience. Thanks for sharing.
Hard to believe that you accomplished so much in just a year. The Med will always be there for later explorations, it's not moving away. I have the feeling your going to really like the Caribbean, definitely a lot of islands to visit, and South America right there also. Looking forward to your journey, may 2023 bring you joy and satisfaction fulfilling all your dreams.

I was 52 when I bought my first sailing boat, a hunter legend 290. We have since moved on to a moody 36. Now at 60 the dream of doing what you guys have achieved in such a small space of time still seems daunting. You are honestly the most amazing couple letting nothing stand in your way.
I take my hat of to you both.
Funnily enough I think we were on the Helford at the same time as you last year. I wish I had found your vlog earlier and we had met.

Well, yes, I kinds figured.
Like i said before; it seemed like you had 3 options; east, west or south.
East is the Med., a bit of a bottle-neck and pricey. South was the coast of Africa.... go armed and swiftly or don't go at all.
West, the Caribbean, best choice and opens a million more options that you have no need to be in a hurry for.

I have been following you for a while now. when I finished university in1962 I took off and travelled around the world with 300 pound in my pocket, I was away from the UK for just shy of 4 years, great memories, do it now and the memories will last for ever, still boating at 84! God bless your travels.

Hello Becka and Zack. This is a surprise and a half. Talk about running before you can walk. That's no easy crossing, as I know from following SV Delos a couple of years ago, when Brady and Blue crossed from Brazil to the Azores and Canaries and then back again, whilst Brian and Karin were back in Sweden, for the birth of their daughter, Sierra. That was a baptism of fire for Brady, being the first time he was completely in command of Delos. Being the 'Wild Child' of the crew before that trip, taking command of Delos was the making of Brady and he then made the decision to get his own yacht... just as Covid struck. Anyway, I'm very pleased to hear you made the crossing successfully and that you are now in the Caribbean, where, as you've just discovered, it's very hot, despite the time of year. Depending on where you actually are, keep your eyes open for all the other young cruisers. Look out for Taylor - @Taylor's Travels - on 'Gypsy Moon', currently somewhere in the Bahamas. There's a whole flotilla of them. Enjoy yourself and be careful of the Sun; it'll roast you alive.

There is another young cruiser you may run across there, Lauren Landers. She also took marine biology and does charters in the Caribbean on her boat. Sweet girl and bet you three would have a blast exploring. She knows a lot of the places to dive, etc there. She has a RUclips channel as well.

Congratulations 1 year already and so much done and traveled.
Trust me.. get two canvas tarps to drape over your booms. You will bake under nylon tarps but old school canvas keeps cool under the sun. Just don't stow damp.
Get two vented windows on the front two pilot house windows.. im sure you have thought about that..

Congrats on making the Atlantic crossing. That had to be a complicated decision to make. Now you are in a very popular cruising area. Lots of great sailing, snorkeling, fishing, and people. You may find your selves staying there a while just exploring all the islands. I know this is looking far into the future but do you have any plans to jump over to the Pacific? Super cool. But just so you know... Beexit doesnt limit you to 90 days in the EU. Aussies and US citizens have been anle to sort this. (I'm a brit too but am planning ahead). You have several options 1 Get a1 hear Visa for France. €100 Euros. The you can coastal hop. Do spain and portugal as part of you 90 days. Then sit oit some time on the French med. Do Italy then Croatia and Montenegro which arent in EU. Then Greece in EU. Then Turkey. Not in EU.You could easily spend 2 years then do a run along North Africa. Risky!
