they think the person they've been watching is the prettiest human alive but when he does a face reveal and turns out to be average looking they stop watching even though nothing changed his personality is still the same he's still the same person

When you reveal your identity to the internet, you're essentially killing off the "mysterious persona" factor that some fans have for you.
Once you take off that mask and show yourself to the world, these people will most likely turn on you because you don't fit the type of person that they imagined you as.

That would be insanely immature,this must happen in younger corners of the web,as I have seen many channels go from faceless to on camera content and people were ok with it(or just podcast the content if they are not).I cannot imagine a full grown adult who is allowed to eat ice cream unsupervised getting mad at the concept of a person whos content they enjoy being on camera.
This is probably just a weird irrelevant thought of mine, but it reminded me of finishing a video game.
To some people, once that final mystery is solved, they have everything- and there's no need to continue further.
This obviously doesn't apply to every situation. Just thought maybe it's an interesting comparison.

I personally loved the way Technoblade revealed his face ( Rest In Peace Techno). He wasn't a facecam streamer, but when he showed it, he didn't make a huge deal out of it. He even mocked the whole concept, by doing the whole ellbow reveal thing. It fitted perfectly with the way he usually acts.
It was so casual most people hardly really knew he already did show his face, even after he became more popular

@@T3rr0r626 LED masks are pretty useful for content creation or just general use, but in my opinion, when i make videos i don't share my face, name or any other information because i perfer having my identity hidden from those i do not know, and most people most likely do the same as me, hell even you haven't shared your face on your channel. ( And it's good to know you are human :] )

Honestly, if Wendigoon had a lot video editing, then the charm of his content wouldn't be the same. It would fall into a genre of heavily edited, low attention span horror covering content. It would also be hard and time consuming for him to add such effects on pretty much all of his videos, due to them being detailed explanations that are long by nature. I find the simplicity in his videos enjoyable as it points my focus on what he is actually covering.
His style works best as a podcast for people who don't need or want any visual stimuli. I don't dislike the guy I just find his videos boring because I like watching cool stuff on screen.
@@T3rr0r626I think his videos might actually be on Spotify as podcasts. I find that I tend to watch RUclips and do something at the same time (since I just can't do anything for an hour or it's a bit wasteful, so podcast style videos are helpful)

Wendigoon is just podcasts for people who aren't into the podcasts and just wants to make that similar minimally visual style but as a solo presenter. and also with a skew toward horror pasta content but, we all know
And that's cool. Sometimes people want a longform they can do house chores to and he's here for it. If people want more intense visuals and heavy edits, they can look for another thing. Nothing stopping em. I don't watch him personally myself but, sometimes he's just there for a certain mood, so, that's where I'm at. Not shaming or recommending. he just be.

Great content as usual T3rr0r, but thanks for that "youtube lesson". I just for fun started my RUclips channel a year ago and now I know the effects of having my face on the internet if I ever come this far. (And this is unlikely with the content I upload, but thanks man)
every 2 seconds I'm just spotting someone I recognise and going "OOH OHH I KNOW THAT ONE!!!"
The best face reveal is a silent face reveal. If your face reveal doesn't make much noise and if you don't use your face in your videos, then people will slowly forget about it. Max0r is a great example of this. I've already seen his face multiple times but I don't remember what he looks like.

When i started watching Wendigoon for the first time i couldn't really find any good videos for me but when you wait a bit you will realise that the things and stories he is talking about are really interesting and he doesn't really need much but his facecam and some editing to do it. + he made videos on "Faith the unholy trinity" and other games where there is gameplay between parts which can be better for you👍

I love making live action skits, which really sucks since I really want to avoid showing my face online. Some people seem like they are able to thrive in this environment while showing their faces, and I think a big part of it comes down to avoiding any sort of hype up about events that expose your face, and treating it more as a normal thing that you've always been doing. It can still be risky though so I unfortunately don't see myself doing it for a while. Good vid

Yeah, I always found the way people go about knowing people is fucking weird, and I always found Wikatubia in particular and the information they gather fucking creepy. One example I can think of this going bad is TheMysteriousMisterEnter. He’s been infamous in the cartoon community due to his overreactions, which has led to Mr. Enter being harassed, Doxxed and even cyberstalked, which shows how far people will go in regarding online personas. When/if I ever make reviews on here I plan to keep the focus on what I’m reviewing instead of my personality, both because of the things in this video, and because I feel like adding personality can actually destract from the criticism at times on RUclips reviews, although I may just be a weirdo.

Eventually i watched that video and was like "Huh, it was not that bad as i imagined that would be. He is just a guy"
Watching your video reminded me about that, and thinking now, it was a net positive, because his face expressions are much emotional and funnier, then his previous PNG-tuber avatar.
Also i agree with your point that LED Mask can also be cool, but voiceovers make my brains hurt like bad lipsinc.
