TAS, short for Tool Assisted Speedrun. The whole point of it is to creat a video of the game being beaten in a way that is almost impossible. It uses the tools of frame by frame advance, memory watch, and the like. Not to make the game easier, but rather to produce a demonstration of gameplay pushed to the limit that would be theoretically possible where human limitations in skill, reflex and consistency were not an issue.
Basically, you aren't wrong about it being "Cheating" But that is the whole point. It is to make a theoretical "Best" speedrun.
