@@AbdulAhad-ng7qy actually the ratte only succeeded in one point even as a concept, being propaganda material, because of it's size it would be target practice for bombers, it would be too slow to even be slightly effective, enemy infantry would be able to sabotage the tracks and render it unable to move, the main cannons wouldn't have enough depression to hit anything close to it, operating it would be a logistical nightmare because of how expensive it would be to maintain one, imagine if it got destroyed and they needed to build a new one! And to close it, producing even a single ratte would take far too long and would waste too much time, something germany didn't really have anymore. The maus was a better idea but even then, it wouldn't be able to cross bridges or rivers(at least not easily) because of it's weight, and it was also too slow. In the end, it was better to go the soviet route and basically spam tanks of not-so-high quality and win by volume instead of quality, a clever move by the USSR during WW2 was to design their tanks' components to last the estimated time the tank would survive in the frontlines to decrease production costs, which allowed the T-34 to be the most produced tank of WW2.
