Why don't the screen writers of Murder She Wrote make the connection between that wherever Jessica Fletcher seems to travel a dead body or two seems to pop up in every episode. Maybe that Jessica Fletcher is America's kindest detective/ serial killer and that the police departments simply have not caught on to her yet.
We have two channels here still showing episodes. I record them and Mum and I watch them late in the evenings. It's hard to find one we haven't seen a few times already. I like to pick out actors who have gone on to bigger things or had their own series. Gets on my Mum's nerves. 0030 am UK

I still watch it to this day. Production values were out of this world. A ballroom with scores of people dressed in tuxes and gowns dancing to an orchestra for a 2-minute scene, etc. all the time. Money was no object.

Shows like Murder, She wrote, Diagnosis Murder, Perry Mason and Columbo were all one of a kind in their own right. Now we're overloaded with "FBI", "NCIS", and "Law & Order" franchises - but not saying that's a BAD thing.

I don't need that crazy over the top shiny shiny blinky blinky BS, just honest character driven story telling. It is crazy, how much I love those simple old columbo episodes, where the focus is just on the dialogue between columbo and the murderer. Everything else was just to distracting. And today it's more vice-versa...

My sis in law got me into Murder She Wrote a few years ago. She passed 5 days before Christmas. We watched the show every Monday night when i was her caregiver. Could tell the episode within a few lines. We didn't know the show existed when I was growing up. One of my fave tv genres.
