Hendrix was only 27, it’s been 50+ years since he passed and nobody has ever come close to his abilities. He will be forever the greatest guitarist of all time
Jimi Hendrix. Is by the far the Man who knows how to play an electric guitar like no other man can. The Dude just make's sound's your not spouse to make. But He did it. Jimi is by far the Best guitarists.
7: He did a lot of stuff on his own and he produced 39 albums throughout his entire career. 6: The greatest guitarist of all time and he helped make rock more electric in the 60s and he could even play the guitar with his teeth. 5: he could sing and write revolutionary protest songs as a folk singer in the early 60s. He could also revolutionize rock music in the mid-60s and beyond as a rock singer.
I agree. Although the Beatles were 4, Dylan was just 1. I don't think anyone wrote more songs that others made into hits. Whether it was the Byrds, Turtles, Cher, Jimi Hendrix, The Band, Adele, Garth Brooks, Billy Joel, Peter Paul and Mary, Guns and Roses, Avril Lavigne, Olivia, Manfred Mann and covered by so many other artists. The list is endless The Stones, Association, The Hollies, Judy Collins, Joan Baez, Bette Midler, Leon Russell, Joe Cocker, George Harrison, Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash to name a few more that had great covers of Dylan's songs.
Marley's songwriting is not in the league compared to Dylan. You think Dylan was just a songwriter? I don't recall Marley covering every genre and succeeding at it. He was reggae and no doubt a legend at it. But he never charted a top 40 hit. Granted he died at only 36 but when Dylan was 36 his legacy was long set in stone. No disrespect but Marley at number 2 no way. Marley wouldn't even be in my top 40. Way way too many artists and groups ahead of him.
1. Bob Dylan 2. Van Morrison 3. Bob Marley 4. The Who 5. The Beach Boys 6. The Beatles 7. Jimi Hendrix 8. Elvis Presley 9. Marvin Gaye 10. Queen 11. Michael Jackson 12. Zeppelin 13. Prince 14. 07: Should be top ten but not above Elvis. In a league of his own and funky as hell. #thepurpleone 06: Greates Guitar God ever. Scary to think what he would have accomplished had he lived longer.... 05: A songwriting phenomenon, his career defies categorization. Few can convey emotions and create stories like he does.
THE ARTIST More complete is Prince by far the best singer is the solo Dylan and most influential , the most creative ca Bowie , Elvis Jackson and son icons but not so much for their music , the Beatles son the greatest band Executives
I always thought that Prince was gay! It wasn't until after he died that I found out he had actually been married twice to women. RIP to him!!! #ThePurpleOne!!!
Hmm and u call yourself a fan? U should have known that he had tons of girlfriends also. Amazing how he could still look as androgynous as he did and wear the heels better than some women, but still was very sexy IMO .
An opinion is always welcome but I don't agree with it because the highest female was Madonna at #16, and she deserves to be on the top 10 for one specific reason. TOO UNIQUE!. Unlike her male counter parts that are extremely dull and boring. Madonna is way out there in a field of BEYOND IMAGINATION. Thank you
hendrix would have been a legend if he was still alive but he only got to do 3 albums before he passed away so it doesn't make sense vh1 ranked hendrix in front of prince, i think we can all agree prince was way better than bob dylan and his terrible singing voice, the top 5 should have been the beatles prince michael jackson rolling stones led zeppelin
you should wash your hands you dirty pig He doesn’t like Bob Dylan but a lot of other people do including myself and I wasn’t from that generation but I still love Bob Dylan’s music.
this obviously means rock artists cause none of those mentioned are anywhere near Duke Ellington, Ray Charles, Sammy Davis, Quincy Jones, Frank Sinatra, BB King, Tommy Emmanuel, all great musicians and singers not to mention the great Jazz, country, classical performers who are way better than most in this ridiculous list.
Love you so much Prince. RIP. Bet you and Jimi Hendrix are jamming in heaven right now.
Jimi Hendrix, greatest man to ever pick up a guitar and literally blow your mind with it 🎸
yea albert king and bb king and buddy guy
greatest rock artist
There's not a single electric guitarist on Earth that has not been influenced by Jimi. Simply, the best.
Hendrix was only 27, it’s been 50+ years since he passed and nobody has ever come close to his abilities. He will be forever the greatest guitarist of all time
Lemmy said it...if there is word to describe Hendrix is MAGIC
I’ve got another,,, a bloody noise.

BOB DYLAN is the greatest artist ever. No one can even compare to him.
Your opinion is noted however he cannot touch Prince, Jimi, BB King Little Richard etc

Bob Dylan should be #2. Nobody touches the Beatles, but Dylan is definitely the best after them.

Elvis was amazing but he was not an artist I think the reason Prince was ranked above him is he wrote songs and played many instruments.
I appreciate Elvis the Ray Charles did not but this legacy does have some problems that mit hinder his position
Prince should of been top 5 on this list...musical chameleon
#1 on mine!
Top 15 maybe top 10. Not top 5 in my opinion.

Hendrix lml lml
Thanks for the reupload! Btw do you by any chance have any of VH1's other 100 greatest series?

Great list but I wish korn, George Jones, Conway twitty, soundgarden and Alice in chains. Should have been on the list
Also the Eagles, CSN, Carole King, Santana

I'm so sorry, but as much as I LOVE Prince, there's no way he should be above Stevie Wonder!! #JustMyOpinion!!
Nzingha Pearson totally agree. Prince didn't have five classic albums like Stevie
@@captaincaveman2400 Sure he has, maybe even more then 5
