Padre is a great character but not necessarily a good priest. Just another guy who uses people's beliefs to motivate them to do his bidding, as we see him do as a fixer. A lot of people idolize this behavior because they dream of the instant gratification of "killing all the sinners", therefore cementing themselves as a special follower of God. But as a former Catholic, the whole point is if you believe in God you believe that God will hand justice out himself, even if that takes place in an afterlife. Taking another's life is equivalent to you elevating yourself to the place of God, which is of course incredibly sinful. But also unsurprising characters like Padre and Joshua Graham garner so much support from certain Christians as, like I said, even in real life a lot of people idolize these kinds of figures cause it allows you to exercise a sense of god-like power and place yourself above "irredeemable sinners", even though another core tenet of Christianity is we are all irredeemable sinners.
Not really. He's a priest to a god whose commandments he ignores completely. He's got a gentleman's behavior and is iconic, sure, but he's not very powerful. In streetkid prologue he can't swat a 6th streeter without V's help and ends up losing control of his district in 2 years. How long has Rogue or Wakako or Hands been in power? He's a minor player compared to those.
People kill others in the name of “God” all the time, from the moment religion was made. Atleast Padre is actually looking out for his community and offering them comfort and support. Better than most pastors who only seek fame and money
The Saint of Heywood recognized the deeds of his unholy servant. You might not like his sanctimonious attitude in the light of the bodycount but he gets results
@@SanosEdge When i took the newest DLC ending the tower, i had option to threaten some random thug who pulled on me after the 2 year coma, it was a street kid option and i mentioned Padre's name, and to my surprise, the thug said that he's "A looser that lost Heywood", so it seems the 2 years didnt go well for Padre.
Padre is the best fixer in my opinion after Rouge. ✝
mr hands is better written in my opinion and his gigs are even better
Yeah his gigs have way more depth.
My list is,
1.Capitane
2. Hands
3. Padre
My top 3 fixers are
Rouge
Padre
Wakako
No Capitane? Also, Wakako sold Evelyn to the Scavs. Let that sink in.

Nah, for me it's Capitane. Guy rigs you cars and dips out of the game once he gets a massive W for his community.
Hate this guy. He's such a big hypocrite. Annoys me every time he talks about God. Badass and dangerous maybe sure but such a big hypocrite.
Unusual combination to be a priest and NIght City Boss isn't it?

Let's just say he takes the Old Testament a bit more literally than most.
