Yes tehy had to do correctly the whole choreography, but their only mean to know If they succeeded once they did the full dance is to end in the correct formation which is as you guessed : a line. This video is from an online concert/fanmeeting where they performed songs of their albums and played games to entertain STAYS , this is basically what they would do in real life fanmeet but since it was covid they found a way to do it online.

yes, that had to end up in a line, because this is what the choreo requires from them. this one is really funny.
