Cormega is a rapper who is constantly slept on, and sadly so, because he can flow better than many mainstream emcees. His solid, straight up delivery is very good to listen to.
Cormega should be an all time great. I mean the guy should be getting white people awards. Like a literature award. It’s really good poetry and delivered effortlessly. I became a fan after Born and Raised. I was a Nas fan before that album and up until that point i didn’t even care of Mega.
I always felt Jay was grasping at straws when that whole "Ether v. Takeover beef came to fruition. That "Lex and TV sets the minimum" line was just a line. Jay tried to make it about him. Jay needed to realize people wasn't really thinking about him on that level till around Vol. 2! It wasn't until B.I.G. passed Jay started really going for the gusto. In 96 it was all about NaS and B.I.G. in the East and Pac in the West!
Nas explains how Jay-Z inspired this line in an interview with Complex: “I saw Jay-Z driving a Lexus with the TVs in them. I got rid of my Lexus at that point and I was looking for the next best thing. It wasn’t a shot at Jay but it was just saying that’s the minimum you gotta have. It’s not a shot at him but he inspired that line. It wasn’t necessarily a shot at him but because the song was a shot at everybody, he fell into that. But he definitely inspired that line
I tell you what, if Sony/Columbia didn't have the wisdom to NOT release "If I Ruled The World" as a single, "It Was Written" wouldn't have sold half the copies that it ended up selling. I was in the retail world at the time, and I saw everyone who couldn't get the single buy the album.

Cormega didn’t go to Nature’s house. They are from different blocks. Cormega is from my Block 40th side of Vernon ,and Nature is from the 41st side of 10th street . The fight happened on the Hill. What happened was Nature got out of a cab on the Hill and Mega was right there. Mega walked up to Nature and swung on Nature dropped him. And Nature got up and gave his man a pound and then his man said handle you’re business. Then Nature went at Mega and they fought one on one they were going at it. Mega got the best of Nature and they shook hands and that was it.
The fact that Nature couldn’t put a scratch on Cormega is crazy. Cause Cormega said it himself he was a boxer. Despite him being a skinny nigga he got hands.

Mega was not kicked out of the Firm because of not giving Stout some money on his deal, that don't even make sense. Mega said it himself "I was out the Firm, unless I sign a production deal, which I didn't do cause son that wasn't real" and then on ForbezDVD they interviewed Mega and he expanded on that line sayin Trackmasters wanted Mega to sign a production deal meaning they would get paid to be in house producers for Mega just like they already were for Nas, AZ, & Foxy. Mega wasn't a big fan of their style so he declined, Stout kicked him out the group because he wouldn't sign the paperwork, by the time Nas found this out Mega was already heated and in a rampage. Again good videos but you sometimes state inaccurate info like it's a fact.

And then Cormega came out on the Redman video when Mobb Deep was beefing with Redman and Keith Murray around that time also. The I'll Be Dat video and the video was recorded in QB
Mega said he got kicked out the group because he wouldn't sign a production deal. Also, Mega said it was the YSB Magazine photo shoot is how he found out how he was kicked out the group. Plus, Mega beat up Nature in Queensbridge, not in the studio.Lastly, Mega dissed Nas way before I Am came out. Your story is fabricated.

Yeah, Nature never had shit on mega, not only was mega superior lyrically (both in The Firm & as a solo MC) but he had the tragedy/sha/havoc-QB-connect w/ marley marl roots, which in terms of cultural relevance gives him the upper hand since he stays close to Tragedy Khadafis revolutionary antiimperialistic heritage, which is keeping the red thread of hiphop as a social phenomenon intact (to never compromise or switch from a working class/ghetto/rebel oriented POV to a hard life morphing into success story/establishment based dito, like way too many project ni***s who start to get a little buzz & shine & by way of gutting lyrical content of its edge declare social progress obsolete as soon as their own financials are secured). Im a huge Nas fan, can enjoy Half-A-Mil & AZ too fo sure, Cormega aint superior to Nas (Nas still got political juice, he took a radical stand on Gun4Gun w/ Killah Priest as late as '07) or anything but the Firm w/out him is mediocre. Mega & Nas came up together, makes no sense for them to beef, cold or not.
I love Nas but Cormega gave it to Nas lyrically. If u don't believe me check out Cormega - Poetry. U forgot to mention Cormega said he gave Nas a lot of hot lines for his album. Like the "life's a bitch, but god forbid the bitch divorce me I'll be flooded with ice so hell fire can't scorch me. That line is from the song Affirmative Action which Mega said was really his line.
Sounds like to me Nas was doing some hating i heard a interview from Nas man & bodyguard lol from the Bravehearts group Big Horse & he said Nas always only wanted to be the Biggest Artist out of Queensbridge & he didnt really want people to succeed & Mega said that hes not cool with ANYBODY from the Illlmatic era alot of broken relationships lol
True your right Nas & Mega are the only ones that really were their own men Prodigy needed Havoc although they came in the game a group, Tradegy Khadafy is a queensbridge Pioneer him & mega are still cool ,you gotta see that Illmatic documentary that was dope. .
Whatever happened to that dude Quan who is on the streets disciple killed it on just a moment he was a promising prodigy of Nas that failed as well I remember horse from the original Bravehearts
*Cormega dropped that Nas diss where he says the line about Ill Will's mom still living in the hood after Nas dropped "Destroy & Rebuild". Nas's answer to that Cormega diss was the song on the 8 Mile soundtrack "U Wanna Be Me". When that came out some people thought the song was about Jay-Z because it was right around the time of that beef, but the song "U Wanna Be Me" is a Cormega diss song not a Jay-Z diss song.* *I don't know if Nas really turned to Lake for protection from Cormega, because Lake was Cormega's homie too.*
Did you work in the industry at some point? You don't need to give your life story away but most of us as listeners want to know at least a little bit about you or why you have this "insider" information. I enjoy the videos but I don't takeep them all too heart.
also I don't think he won 3 golden gloves cause he was never open class he was novice and after u win or make it to the finals of golden gloves in the novice class you can't compete in novice again you have to move up to open class
Good stuff bro...What's up with doing a Nas vs AZ video bcuz they fell out for a while too and nobody ever really knew the situation. At one point they was suppose to do a collaboration album too!
Lyrically Mega is so much doper than Nas. I always found the irony so funny that you got "The Firm" (meaning a tight, strong, ride for life family) supergroup....... And after one song a member gets kicked out and replaced 😂😂
Nas is definitely a great lyricist...not gonna take that away from him...but im from that hood , and i can tell you first hand that cormega is nice and is actually a street dude...a lot of Nas songs are based off of mega and tragedy khadafi and others real lives...and by the way...tragedy is definitely the NICEST from Q.B. , you probably havent heard all his stuff because unfortunately he didnt get the buzz he deserved...but he is in fact better than Nas...jay z not even in the equation
really, I know a little about the nas and cormega beef, but it's a lot missing from this story. nas one love song, how cormega was removed from the firm album cover, cormega on the violator one project
Yup Mega recall quiet as kept started the artist mixtape idea. I still got the Montana diary. Didn't know Pun and Mega had a track till after I copped the mixtape . You didn't touch on the Nature, Nas fallout. Didn't Nature get slumped again? Or did wild gremlins step up? Also Sauce Money and Nature went through it
ken tuck "Life's a bitch but god forbid the bitch divorce me/ I'll be flooded with ice so hell fire can't scorch me" I remember an interview with Mega where he said dudes in the hood who were cool with Nas had that line tatted on their bodies and wanted to cut it off when they found out Mega actually wrote it.
Now we know the inspiration for "We Aint Friends" by Nature (a dope ass song, btw): Cormega beating his ass up in broad daylight, on the top of a hill. Only thing I want to know is, did Mega knock him out and let Nature roll down the hill? If so, was it a big hill? 😂😂😂
That totally makes sense dude. I've been kicked out of a group before that s*** hurts when your homeboys was to p**** to talk to you like a man. Some people take loyalty and those who take loyalty to the grave and when you feel like someone's just on you just as determined to wreck a mf life up . Believe that
Pretty correct....Nore was being managed by Jungle (Nas's bro) and at the time Nore was cool with Nas and made a song called "Body in the trunk" and some people thought it was a sneak diss on Mega, Mega had a line in one song asking this "I got a message from Papi/who the body in the trunk? I wanna know like Joe". Also Nas didn't want Trag on the QB album not Mega cause they had deaded the beef a lil by then but Mega was like we can't have a QB album without Trag. Then that chain incident happened at the shoot. Before Mega went to jail, before Nas got a deal, Mega was the best rapper in QB, also Mega and Lakey had a crew called goodfellas and they ran their hood, Lord (Littles) was with another crew 40 Bustas or some shit, can't remember but they weren't too cool with goodfellas, Mega felt really disrespected when Nas was coming at him cause he was one of the illest in their hood, he said in that XXL mag, when Ill Will (Nas's boy) had beef, he came to get Mega for back up, not Nas. Mega really hustled and they always looked as Nas as a leech that was rapping their life. Glad the beef is dead but it was hot circa 01, 02 mixtape days....also people reading, look for a song called "fuck nas" by Cormega, and "Realmatic" by Cormega, he explained it all there.
Nas runs with Big Lord not Littles they all was the 40 Bustas Nas Mega and Lake all was together from kids wasn't no beef til rap Nas didn't want Tragedy on the Qb album because of the fuck shit Tragedy did with E Money Bags song he took Bags off put himself on it then tried to start some petty shit cause Nas wouldn't clear the song for the war report album that's who Jungle was talking about on the skit being a ex coke head
you gotta get your facts straight tragegy was already on the qb album nas didn't want mega on the album tragedy bein the older head forced nas to put mega on qb's finest
Personally i'll take tragedy word over nas word any day have you seen tragedy new documentary and his interview with doggie diamonds ? tragedy set the record straight and littles couldn't rap to save his life
Big Pun was feeling Nore tho. Big Pun the 1 who forced Fat Joe to step his game up atleast when they was rapping together on some Deep Cover sh*t. Yet Big Pun wasn't as big of a name as Nas in the Rap world. However even nas over respected Puns skills
Nas dissed mega on STILLMATIC freestyle bc of what mega said in the xxl magazine than mega did the realmatic diss than nas did destroy and rebuild than mega did poetry and children story like disses lol it’s all on a mixtape
Some suggestions to make this more listenable: 1.Speak a lil faster 2.Speak with more enthusiasm 3.Don't record near any airports or turn off the fan in the background 4.Stop taking long pauses between thoughts or sentences.
I remember Mega being from 4015 QB block and Nature was from 41st side. Also mega said he ran up on him on the hill not agreed to fight him, and dropped him with one punch while one of the homies ran his chain that Jungle was shooting to get back. Also the first a Nature diss I heard was on the clue tape talking bout how he got his spot jacked in the firm. Then mega and mike D classic fuck nature and Nas response
I think that this dude aint no insider, I think that this dude just a genuine Cormega fan who has done his homework. I think that Nas is on another level than Cormega! That is why nobody know or have a clue who Nas was dissen on I AM album. CORMEGA IS A KILLA ON THE MIC A ILL LYRICIST!
There is no more beef between these brothers. All that petty isht has been squashed for awhile now, the only reason you don't hear much about them rolling together is because everyone is on their. hu$tle....Sooner or Later we'll see the Firm connect again in some capacity.......

Like the "life's a bitch, but god forbid the bitch divorce me I'll be flooded with ice so hell fire can't scorch me. That line is from the song Affirmative Action which Mega said was really his line.
TheEdub1 That's who Jay-Z bowwored info from to battle Nas back, that's what made super ugly so wack is that mega already said those lines
Yeah Super Ugly was trash!
Sounds like to me Nas was doing some hating i heard a interview from Nas man & bodyguard lol from the Bravehearts group Big Horse & he said Nas always only wanted to be the Biggest Artist out of Queensbridge & he didnt really want people to succeed & Mega said that hes not cool with ANYBODY from the Illlmatic era alot of broken relationships lol
macmittens585 That's true but was any of them ill enough to stand on their own?
True your right Nas & Mega are the only ones that really were their own men Prodigy needed Havoc although they came in the game a group, Tradegy Khadafy is a queensbridge Pioneer him & mega are still cool ,you gotta see that Illmatic documentary that was dope. .
BIG UP CORMEGA! CHECK THE ALBUM "MEGA PHILOSOPHY"
mega great, nas the greatest ever, its diff
Whatever happened to that dude Quan who is on the streets disciple killed it on just a moment he was a promising prodigy of Nas that failed as well I remember horse from the original Bravehearts
Blind Rage look him up Don Ferquan
Quan is amazing
Blind Rage him and Nas fell out... i cant remember the specifics
He said his daughter died and Nas didn’t reach out.
All Facts”,Good Narration👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾!
That diss Nature did on Nas was crazy too I remember Nas said in the XXL or Source that he got Nature fucked up because of that diss lol
*Cormega dropped that Nas diss where he says the line about Ill Will's mom still living in the hood after Nas dropped "Destroy & Rebuild". Nas's answer to that Cormega diss was the song on the 8 Mile soundtrack "U Wanna Be Me". When that came out some people thought the song was about Jay-Z because it was right around the time of that beef, but the song "U Wanna Be Me" is a Cormega diss song not a Jay-Z diss song.*
*I don't know if Nas really turned to Lake for protection from Cormega, because Lake was Cormega's homie too.*
That was Nature that talked about ill will’s mom.
Nas - message 2pac diss (maybe) , biggie diss (definetly),Jayz diss (definetly) "lexis tvsets the minimum treats iam sending them" (jayz diss)
Dope post FAM. Mega does have an impressive body of work tho. #salute
you said Fifty was gonna be a BraveYard Lol, just wanted exploit that....good shit though, i'm turning your videos into an all day thing
MrExodus He was.
Henny Lopez braveheart not a brave yard...
MrExodus Lol oh damn.
Did you work in the industry at some point? You don't need to give your life story away but most of us as listeners want to know at least a little bit about you or why you have this "insider" information. I enjoy the videos but I don't takeep them all too heart.
Karceno4Life cormega actually offered Nas 10 grand from his def jam deal but NAS didn't want it
also I don't think he won 3 golden gloves cause he was never open class he was novice and after u win or make it to the finals of golden gloves in the novice class you can't compete in novice again you have to move up to open class
These Two Are My Favorite MC's
Good stuff bro...What's up with doing a Nas vs AZ video bcuz they fell out for a while too and nobody ever really knew the situation. At one point they was suppose to do a collaboration album too!
The mega diss tracks used to have Nas so heated they he would be all over Queensbridge looking for mega and never could find him when he asked 😆
Wait a minute when did he had the time 😂? He was a mainstream rap artist 😂
Lyrically Mega is so much doper than Nas.
I always found the irony so funny that you got "The Firm" (meaning a tight, strong, ride for life family) supergroup....... And after one song a member gets kicked out and replaced 😂😂
No he’s not 😂
Mega is official...one of my favorites...& I'm from Syracuse..shout out to littlest too
Kenny Green you by onadoga
Mega is no where near Nas lyrically. Nas is the best thing out of Queens period, not even close.
Good vid
Cant wait for the jay and prodigy
You have to do the
Ice cube vs NWA Game vs Gunit
Game and ice cube dismantle a whole rap group lol
it's coming
Karceno4Life HATE ME NOW WAS ABOUT MEGA!!!!!!! WHO KNEW.
Cammy Mc. Also (Come get me) from nastradamus album
Tupac and Mobb deep
really, I know a little about the nas and cormega beef, but it's a lot missing from this story. nas one love song, how cormega was removed from the firm album cover, cormega on the violator one project
Mega is nice tho
Do the truth behind Karceno and his haters. I've never met a group so dedicated to following what they swear is BS.
Vim de Zim welcome to RUclips
Nas and eminem are the dudes that can't really be beaten in rap
Yup Mega recall quiet as kept started the artist mixtape idea. I still got the Montana diary. Didn't know Pun and Mega had a track till after I copped the mixtape . You didn't touch on the Nature, Nas fallout. Didn't Nature get slumped again? Or did wild gremlins step up? Also Sauce Money and Nature went through it
You all wrong about how this situation started between the 2
Mega in his wildest dreams ain't nicer than Nas period and I fuck with Mega. Nas is great Mega is a decent.
Nas is great but Mega is way better than decent
I agree but Mega supposedly wrote Nas most famous line
John Cooney That's your opinion of which we all have one. In my opinion he's decent and I love lyrical rappers.
sakecity7 which line was that
ken tuck "Life's a bitch but god forbid the bitch divorce me/ I'll be flooded with ice so hell fire can't scorch me"
I remember an interview with Mega where he said dudes in the hood who were cool with Nas had that line tatted on their bodies and wanted to cut it off when they found out Mega actually wrote it.
QBC💯GOOD INFO WELL SPOKEN💥💥💥💥💥
You way off Nas didn't look out for Cormega in jail and when he came home the songs Nas had was about Cormega life more so
Mega was in the N.O.R.E video still.mega my boy.he a REAL dude 💯👍🏾
Now we know the inspiration for "We Aint Friends" by Nature (a dope ass song, btw): Cormega beating his ass up in broad daylight, on the top of a hill.
Only thing I want to know is, did Mega knock him out and let Nature roll down the hill? If so, was it a big hill? 😂😂😂
Mega knocked Nature out and they were from the same hood but Mega moved out the hood way before that.
Good video karceno. Is the beef completely squashed between them now? I might of missed it.
Yep they cool now
Good.
They are not cool.
***** meaning the beef is over
That totally makes sense dude. I've been kicked out of a group before that s*** hurts when your homeboys was to p**** to talk to you like a man. Some people take loyalty and those who take loyalty to the grave and when you feel like someone's just on you just as determined to wreck a mf life up . Believe that
I love these videos where this dude makes up nonsense .
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can u do lil Kim and foxy beef
Wow. I didn't even know he was taking shots at Mega on those songs.
31membami
yo....I used to speak to both Trag and Mega , Nas did not want Trag!
Personally i'll take tragedy word over nas word any day have you seen tragedy new documentary and his interview with doggie diamonds ? tragedy set the record straight and littles couldn't rap to save his life
31membami
Yeah I've seen that, Trag is the best rapper from QB. Littles sucked. His bets verse was on that mobb album, Infamy.
I think nas was answering back to mega “never personal” diss record on “big things” ?
qb finest general since day one.
Steve stoute dropped mega from the firm bc he didn’t sign with his production team etc
Nas dissed mega on STILLMATIC freestyle bc of what mega said in the xxl magazine than mega did the realmatic diss than nas did destroy and rebuild than mega did poetry and children story like disses lol it’s all on a mixtape
Some suggestions to make this more listenable:
1.Speak a lil faster
2.Speak with more enthusiasm
3.Don't record near any airports or turn off the fan in the background
4.Stop taking long pauses between thoughts or sentences.
+lifestraight lol, but true!
duffno1 Thanks man. This was hard to listen to! lol
lifestraight : Thought i was the only one who thought that bro.
what i want to know is what happen between pete rock and nas
The clearest and most influential MC and lyrical genius out of Queens bridge was not Nas. It was Tragedy.
Tragedy is so slept on
Haze Jones true. But the major label kinda blackballed him also. Remember when Black Rage was suppose to come out?
J York I agree but Nas is the QB emcee first emcee to go platinum
J York Queens is nice period. They're just the handpicked ones who got shine. Big Noyd is mad underrated.
NO IT WAS SHANE
Damn Mega pounded Nature out on a hill? Lpl😂 damn Nate I thought you was a Wild gremlin 😂
Quan who use to roll with Nas said the same thing.
This was sick
The realest was like 02 kid... Fun facts !!!
I lived in Queens so I know how it went down
Is it Chris Lighty or Steve Stoute? I'm confused.
Stoute
I think that this dude aint no insider, I think that this dude just a genuine Cormega fan who has done his homework.
I think that Nas is on another level than Cormega!
That is why nobody know or have a clue who Nas was dissen on I AM album.
CORMEGA IS A KILLA ON THE MIC A ILL LYRICIST!
I hate the fucking music industry. The higher ups waaaayyy too emotional.
The QB album idea Prodigy was doing first , nas got jealous and done it too
Nas is the greatest, he shouldn't have been threatened by cory. He should've helped him out more. They were dope on la familia.
Whole lot of 🧢 in this video
on mega album he said he got kicked out the firm cuz he didn't sign a production deal
dude speaking the truth
There is no more beef between these brothers. All that petty isht has been squashed for awhile now, the only reason you don't hear much about them rolling together is because everyone is on their. hu$tle....Sooner or Later we'll see the Firm connect again in some capacity.......
i was expecting mega's album too...
Can you explain the cnn vs mobb deep beef
How do you know so much about New York?
This is dope can you do a young thug vs lil Wayne beef?
No.
Hell naw
GTFO!!
