Finally got a snow storm here in Summerville South Carolina this past week. First time in nearly a decade since we actually had a decent snow here, but definitely awesome. Love what you do my man, and it kinda sucks to see good things closing down. Hopefully something else comes along and takes over the building and brings new jobs
I'm working at a closing store, and it's not that we don't care anymore, but that the general public is just throwing everything around. We're not getting any more hours to clean up, so we simply don't have the time to deal with the mess.
I figured that was partially the case. And when I mentioned that perhaps they don't care, I'm not speaking on behalf of anyone. I've just happened to see it in the past. And I can totally understand they won't give you the necessary hours to clean.
Ahh, my old mall. Wish I could go back. I only been to the Big Lots once though. It was huge when I went, lots of stuff. Wonder when this one is closing? I miss the Ames, Arby's, the toy store where Claire's is now, Montgomery Ward, Sears, etc. I loved going to Dubois Mall in the 90's/2000's. Sadly, the arcade was small and is no longer there. But, now there is another arcade in the section where Arby's was. I miss getting balloons there too. Do you remember the bird that was there in the 90's between Ames and the Pet store? I remember talking to him and he was so pretty. My mom worked Arby's when I was in Preschool/Kindergarten in the 90's.
I love how even tho the Bee Friend is now a piece of history, it remains in the opening! Just like the former businesses that you highlight are videoed long after they are gone, to remind us of what we used to have! Very good idea! I hope Big Lots doesn't meet the same fate.

That is typically how the company (Variety Wholesale) does business based upon how their other acquisitions went. They clearance out the merchandise and put in items that they want. This company is based in Henderson, NC and has bought out Maxway and Roses stores.
When I was growing up, we used to shop at big lots a lot. However we noticed the items they were starting to sell and the quality of it wasn’t the best. Unfortunately they went downhill. We shop at Ollie’s now because it’s better and they offer more of a variety than Big Lots.
I don't frequent the north hills like I used to, but it sucks they are closing. I remember years ago this store used to be a Kuhns. Wonder what will go in now
I’m surprised they had not discounted their Christmas stuff. I work for Fred Meyer and the day after Christmas all our Christmas stuff got marked down, I could be wrong but I think even on Christmas some of our Christmas stuff was discounted
To be honest I've had that Warheads and didn't think it was all that bad. Actually, I put mine in the fridge overnight and let it get cold so being that it was cold might have made a difference, i'm not sure. I'll have to get another one and try it warm and see! Thanks for another awesome video.
Wonder if they still would have that big teddy bear that I saw. i was looking for something like that for a Christmas gift and couldn't find one that size anywhere, and never gave it a thought to look at Big Lots. I'll be paying that store a visit this coming weekend!!
And speaking of Kohl's.... I checked it out, the Kohl's in Phillipsburg, NJ is in fact of the ones they will be closing, so that will be the true end of the Phillipsburg Mall.

I went to my childhood Big Lots last week and they were having their closing down and going out of business sale. But their sales sucked though 5% off, 10% off, 20% off, and 30% off the only items that were 50% off was what was left of their Christmas decor. Their toy section was awful it looked like a tornado hit it. It is the Shawnee Oklahoma Big Lots store is the one that is closing. It has been a ghost store for several years not much shopping traffic and prices are not reasonable there anymore their prices are high at Big Lots! Even before inflation Big Lots has gone up on their merchandise. I'm going to miss the Halloween and Christmas decorations they always had the coolest decorations for both of those holidays. Not everything in my Big Lots store is not on sale during the closing down store sale either. My Big Lots store is not in a very good area either it is in a dead area and I also think a lot of people forget where its at as well because of where it is located. I feel bad for the employees of Big Lots losing their jobs especially the ones that have been there for a long time.
No disrespect sir, but as I remember it the union went on strike against Kroger and the company said "this our final offer. Union rejected it and they left the pgh. Market. Such a shame as they had just built a new store up in McCandless near the old showcases cinemas. Don't forget to redeem your top value yellow stamps. Lol😅

Hey man try to stay safe out there in the snow and cold that cold weather can share give you chills. But seriously I would have figured that Big Lots would have had major discounts with all things considered but as for the food man I would have been marking that stuff down to like 50 cents to 25 cents before the expiration date went out but they do say big stores waste a lot of food that gets tossed into the garbage. Is this the shame that just let that fool go to waste rather than this discounting it all the way down to just get rid of it. But but I wouldn't have drunk that giving by your expression the drink must have tasted awful but I remember a lot of the 90s although it seems so long ago now but I'm hoping you'll have a great 2025.

My takes on this.... 1) shop rite freezer bags?!?! Honest rare find here in western PA. I always shopped Shop Rite in NJ and I visited family. 2) why the hell their Xmas stuff is NOT discounted?! And they wonder why they're closing.... 3) the dis-orgsnization... I was at the Bridgeville one last week, it was 20x more dis-organized then this one was. I actually laughed out loud and workers asked me what was funny. And funnier point, couple days ago the Big Lots in Bridgeville had 4 fire trucks in front of it. I guess someone was like 'f it' and lit it. Haha Guess it gives new meaning to the phrase "Fire Sale" lol
