I remember Todd had huge wins in Bobby's room against some whale playing Limit Hold'em althought I don't remember the name, it happened in 2010s, maybe Beal was that whale
not even close to being the same thing, Hastings straight up cheated Viktor with shared hand analysis with two other players, the corporation was supposed to play as a group. One was cheating and the other was pre-determined rules. Hastings beating of Viktor put Viktor in a hole for 10 years, its not until now in 2024 that Viktor has recovered and is playing highstakes again.
Wouldn't it have been better for the billionaire to play no limit hold em? To intimidate the less wealthy players? As you can tell I know little of the game but wouldnt the bluffing part of the game be less potent against mega-wealth?
Beal did everything he could to rock the pros. Long sessions, high stakes, giving certain pros no rest, changing things up him & the pros agreed to. While the pros got ahead, Beal used his aggression to wipe out & tire the pros. Besides Ivey & Todd Brunson, Jennifer Harman was Beal's thorn in his side. Ted Forrest was that as well for Beal.
Some REALLY BS narration in this video 5:03 "Beal was feeling the strain of the swings..." Are you kidding?? A multi-Billionaire does NOT feel the strain of losing 6M$ (his 10M win and 16Mil Loss) This is like a normal person losing 50$. And earlier in the video, mentioning that 'Las Vegas was the only place that could host this high stakes event'....This could have been hosted ANYWHERE! All you need is a dealer, cards and chips...It could have been hosted in my dining room for God's sakes! ading all that fluff to make it sound extravagent just makes YOU sound silly for adding unneeded DRAMA. Also, you failed to mention Todd Brunson who also threw a whoopin' on Beal.
If I recall correctly Todd Brunson was also a member of The Corporation and had several winning sessions against Mr. Beal.

I still can’t believe they haven’t made this into a movie
I remember reading in poker magazines at the time about Ivey dismantling this guy
Old-school version of what Hastings and his mates did to Isildur.
