  • OSPF is Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP) designed to distribute routing information between routers belonging to the same Autonomous System (AS).
    help.mikrotik....
    The protocol is based on link-state technology that has several advantages over distance-vector protocols such as RIP:
    no hop count limitations;
    multicast addressing is used to send routing information updates;
    updates are sent only when network topology changes occur;
    the logical definition of networks where routers are divided into areas
    transfers and tags external routes injected into AS.

    Another great video MikroTik!!! There is only one thing that has made me look the other way from MikroTik when it comes to IGPs, and that has been IS-IS! I know the forum has requested this feature for many years (Over a decade already) but I would freaking love seeing this feature come to fruition with EVPN on a MikroTik. This would completely blast competitors out of the water on a carrier scale.

      IS-IS is the new hotness for IGP but can we have BDF for BGP first?

    • @TheNetworkBerg
      @TheNetworkBerg Год назад +1

      @@ThomasSmoke Yes, this is definitely a very missed feature! I've actually seen some people run into issues with their BGP setups as they try and use BFD since the option is there, but this causes the peers not to establish. So I totally agree with you that BFD should come first!!

      @@TheNetworkBerg and BDF should work/check mupti/ecmp path's ! This not work on ros6 and MikroTik say it's be corrected in ros7 ! We wait for BDF for multi-paths !.
      @MikroTik BDF with multi-path and next IS-IS please !

    Not to be rude or anything, but consider adding subtitles on videos where the speech is harder to understand like this one. Or even on all videos to enhance accessibility

      Turn on RUclips Closed Captioning, that's what it's there for. it won't get it 100% right but you'll be able to work it out.
      great video @mikrotik

      Excellent video, however, I'm not a native english speaker, for me it was really hard to understand what she was saying because of her pronuntation. I agree with the idea of subtitles.

    Before the title was changed I was irrationally excited that Mikrotik was announcing a platform with 400GBE OSFP support. 😆

    A video talking about mpls and vpls in mikrotikv7 would be very accurate, since there is no documentation of mpls and vpls in mikrotikV7
