If they kiss I'm pretty sure one of them is going to be killed off soon after^^ I don't see PoI doing romance, unfortunately. Although, Root/Shaw romance would DEFINITELY not be the icky cliche kind of romance that every other show does :D

I love that the Bering and Wells fandom have adopted a sort of crossover with this, and they call it Machine 13. If you are on Tumblr at all I would look for it!

Despite Shaw's defensiveness, she and Root have some of the best teamwork in POI.

Okay so, Root being the package, they picked her up the next morning. That means that they were at the apartment all night together, alone. "He’s hot! I mean, not “Hood and Zip Ties in a CIA safe house with Ten hours to kill” hot, but I kinda get it" - Root to Shaw 4x07. So basically they've been sleeping together from their first mission? DAAMNN
It depends. Shahi and Acker have said in interviews that some of the writers have told them that their characters have slept together off screen in moments like this, and other writers have said that they haven't. They said it depends on the writer's interpretation. So as much as I would have liked them to, I have to go by canon where they haven't, except for the simulation in 5x04
NazcarFanatic24 It was even implied in these little quotes that Root would trow around. Also the one where she told Shaw that they can't keep her locked up "against her own will anyway", implying some BDSM shit. And yes, I know what the writers said but at the end of it all both the writers and producers said that their relationship didn't go unconsummated. So I think I'm gonna stick to my theory that they have been banging each other since 3x06.
+Root the only writer who's opinion and interpretation is final is Jonathan Nolan. I'd be curious to hear his thoughts

@@GiangNguyen-cg8nm The period while Root and Shaw were waiting for the CIA. It gets alluded to later when Shaw is discussing how hot a guy is, and whatever happened in those ten hours is considered the '10' on the 0 to 10 scale.
@@GiangNguyen-cg8nm In Season 4 Episode 7, Shaw is having drinks with the guy who's number came up. Root says "Ooohh he's hot, not hood and zip ties with 10 hrs to kill hot" and Shaw's face is like 😳. Later in the same episode Shaw asks for Roots help to translate something Harold wrote and Root says "this could take all night 😏"

I'm trying to figure out what Root found" hot " during those ten hours in the CIA safe house. Did they start taxing each other/ beating each other up in a fun way, did they have hate sex with each other? That doesn't seem like Shaw if she would go for it, because she brought up " trust issues". Maybe Shaw was attracted to her right off the bat when Root threatened her with the iron, so in the safe house Root teased her and provoked her with " sex no strings attached." So Shaw went with it. And after that, Root's flirting started, and the fact Shaw didn't tell her to stop ( that is until If Then Else when she starts to tell her off, but then admits to it in her actions) it means they did have sex, no fuss no muss as Shaw would say, however feelings began to develop. By the end of Honor Among Thieves they did have sex for the first time with strings attached.
Sarah Shahi has said in interviews that the writers have different interpretations. She said that some of the writers have told her and Acker, that their characters did bang off screen after certain episodes, and other writers have said that their characters have never hooked up off screen. Me personally I don't think they ever did, because in the simulation in 5x04 Root's intensity seemed like it was the result of so much sexual tension being built up, and finally released.

I mean...I see the appeal in this, but I've always preferred Finch/Root.
