Like many who watch Adam Savage, I decided to steal this idea and have mostly made one (currently using a magnetic base that is pre-made from Loc-Line, have yet to make the clamp-end) - I like the bit about putting a nut on first to easily correct thread issues after cutting a bolt, that makes so much sense, thank you for that. Another tool in the experience toolbox. Edit: Oh, and thank you for that specific clamp - seeing a spring clamp that has a non-marring contact-spreading swivel in combination with a flat surface for easy mounting (no need to shave down or build up or make a custom joining piece) seems like the best iteration so far on the clamp end. I'm about to head out to Home Depot now to pick one up.

Side note... all the audio in this video was recorded using that new mic setup and I had it attached to the camera the whole time (as opposed to on me, you can actually see it hanging off the side of the camera toward the end of the video) and I think that audio quality turned out great. Now I just need some in-car audio improvements lol. Getting there though!

@@bradscarmods no doubt. It's a LOT better than my built in camera mic. I like my rode but I have to remember to charge it and keep it ready.
