And ik kyokushin has something they call kumite, but I don't practice that style so idk why they mean by it. In shotokan karate and tang soo do "kumite" is a sparring exercise where the entire class lines up in two lines in front of eachother and you fight with each person for a minute or two then switch to the next person for atleast an hour or so, and until youve fought everyone probably 2-3 times
This is interesting, is this kyokushin? It looks like it, and I ask because depending on the style "kumite" has different meanings referring to different training exercises.
when doing the drill at minute 2:00. wouldn´t be wise to stay away from the free leg of the opponent?looks like you could get kicked in the head. is just a comment. I like the drill. I practice karate and aikido.
Great observation! The whole point though is to fight from a place where you could get really hurt, and in a compromised position…. so you need to put yourself into vulnerable spots to react from there.
Which is a great exercise to develop fight IQ and being used to fighting different people of different sizes with different approaches. And well it's hard to fight for two hours straight lol
Nice work sensei. Your ideas give me insight into my own karate practice and teaching
Thank you I appreciate that

Thanks for your comment, no, not Kyokushin, just a tactical exercise we developed to help you deal with compromising positions.
