Brother I'm beginner tatto artist . I always struggle in technical work while tatting. Plz provide me some Technics for learning shading andhe the lining quality
I am an artist myself and I saved this and have been watching it on replay each day and I actually can say it helped me a lot thanks brother a TATTOO ARTIST doesn’t know it all you can learn new tricks for the people that think they may know it all!! Don’t get offended.
PS What are your thoughts on the power supplies made for dot work? & do you have a video about techniques on that style of tattooing also? 💗🙏🏼Thank you!
Not confusing at all bro! This video is actually the VERY FIRST piece of knowledge I have attempted to obtain in my quest to becoming a tattoo artist. I just recently found my calling so I have alot to learn. I subscribed to your channel because I like your teacher vibes. I look forward to seeing all you have to teach.
Nickz Arts - Have you started your apprenticeship in an open studio, or a more basic training session through private lessons? good luck, with your future career and specialization. Courtesy of a Norwegian tattoo artist.
No entiendo mucho ingles , pero con esfuerzo y un poco de conocimiento en el tatuaje tu vídeo ha sido de gran ayuda. Congratulations for your video. Thanks
You should’ve had a black and grey picture and circling areas in the picture that would best fit each technique of shading that you are explaining. That would help out even more.
You are brilliant 👏 I continuously watch and learn from your videos. Thank you for taking your time to teach us your skills and wisdom. Yours by far have helped me more then most 🔥 💯
Bro ive come to the conclusion that if you dont know the right ppl you're screwed on gettin the right info. Its like they're afraind someone will be better than them.
@@heatherhenson3175 I've been doing alot on my left hand. Just tattooing myself. And when I go get tattoos I watch everything they do and ask questions. And I'm constantly watching videos
Thank you for sharing this! Really appreciate it. I am still experiencing issues with white ink. It’s like I don’t get that white ink in. Would really appreciate a video on that topic. Thank you.
You explained this so well but it really comes down to level of experience and application if you don't have the application down you got nothing and you my friend are an amazing artist I love your work and hope one day I can be as good as you I'm having so much trouble with smooth transitions and blending my black and grey my line work and color are spot of for an artist of only about a year but blending and shading are getting me so frustrated sometimes I get it perfect other times It comes out like I've never done it at all before consistency is key and application is everything it all comes down to experience I'll get it it's just soo frustrating sometimes
There`s not enough words of compliment to thank you for your videos. You`re super generous sharing your techniques, hope you receive all the best in return!!
Thanks, now it's a bit easier for me to try something new, first on my own skin of course 😄 I've learned so much but still a long way to go to get my skills where I want them to be....
Thanks Oliver for all that you do for the tattooing community. I have learned a lot from all of your videos. I think what you do for us is totally new school, in that you're not afraid to make our craft better for the future. PEACE AND HAPPY HOLIDAY! -Mark C. Steele
Going with mag by the side will damage the skin - most tattooers thinking that the color packing is same ad you showed but its not. The side motion is only a visual motion, real packing is same as wip but without going out from the skin to make faster results 👍
Thanks for the vid but could you explain what makes shading look scratchy? From everything I’ve read, that seems to be a problem that a lot of beginner artists have, including myself. Any insight you have on this is much appreciated. Keep up the great work man.
Thank you for such precious information. Enjoyed it very much! Please, any tips on how to tatt darker skin tones from your experience ? Your fan is from Africa! 😁😁. Merci!!!
@@xjunkxyrdxdog89 Yarp bruv! So I bought a ton of other shit, used the included ink to practice. My dad is making me practice on him first, did a drawing i did when i was little on his forearm. Kinda got distracted with shibari suspension and school, yukko. I did try it out on my leg and arm no ink, guess what? yup, it hurts. If I was buying for real I would get a cordless pen style rotary machine, but that's 1k.
I tried to apprentice a few years ago but unfortunately left before I was able to finish. If I had it explained to me like this i would have smashed it and been tattooing already. it makes so much sense thank you man your vids are dope 🙏 your a good dude. i have a question though The colour packing is for double stacks and round shades yea? And do you stiple with a tight liner or RS
This really helps thanks a lot I have a coil machine if possible any videos on setting correct voltage and using coil machine to do a tattoo just wanna see if it’s just me who needs more practice or if I need a better machine thanks
I’d like too hear what needles groups you use with each, mags with packing. And larger round shaders with stippling? Can you achieve a nice stipple with mags? I’ve tried stippling with mags but they usually come out really clean soft blends which is great for doing realism but I’d like to get the hang of stippling for more traditional pieces
Awesome video:) Not many share such an great insight about tattooing techniques:) Lil B Tattoo has a lining video up too:) Lil B Tattoo did my forearm:) Super humble of you guys to share:)
Hi Oliver! This video has been so useful, thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge! I have one question: what needles would you be using with these techniques? RS? Magnums? And I apologise if you had already mentioned the answer at any point in your video... not sure if you had and I missed it! Thank you! :)

I have almost 12 years tattooing, and your videos have helped me quite a bit! Seriously appreciate it bruv!
This is the best video I’ve seen yet on visually seeing how to shade the skin. It really helps achieve different types of shading.
I could nerd out on tattoo technique videos like this all day, thank you. Please do another all about stippling with more video examples 💗
PS What are your thoughts on the power supplies made for dot work? & do you have a video about techniques on that style of tattooing also? 💗🙏🏼Thank you!
I'm a painter in training to tattoo, and I approve of this video.
Really, dude great tutorial and video. 👍 Thanks
This is probably one of your best videos yet, compliments on the editing
Seeing your face firstly before the video , I smiled 😊 and said to my mind ! That’s my mentor ! 🌺💐❤️❤️❤️🙌🏽
Literally the most well put examples to be found. As simple as you can make these complicated techs
3 apprenticeships and I learn more from this video than anything first hand experience taught me.
Right on point
Great video
I've been tattooing for a little over a year, and the only technique I was familiar with was wip shading. Thank you much for explaining these!

Man this is spot on, thank you very much for the info and tips, much appreciated.
This is really helpful, is it possible to show which needle you use for each technique
ジュニアJoey think that depends what he’s doing at that particular time
Shading is mostly done with magnums or round shaders
Almost always with a bugpin mag. Stipple I use a long taper liner usually a 3rl tight or diamond.
This was the first video of yours I watched, Came back to get it fresh in the mind.
One of the easiest videos to follow on you tube. Good job man .
The best video about these techniques I’ve ever seen. Crystal clear. Thank you sooooo much mate 👌🏻
As a self taught artist...this helped immensely...thank you brudda
The brush and wip techniques are so understandable!! I use them ALL the time when I shade in drawings and when you were explaining them I was so happy
