Vaseline, isn’t meant to be a hydrator for lips, it’s meant to seal the hydrator that is put underneath. Vaseline may help keep moisture from escaping the lips. However, it’s not useful on its own if your lips are already chapped. Apply Vaseline on your lips after moistening them first with a humectant like aloe. Vaseline is known as an occlusive, which means it can hold in moisture. If you use Vaseline on your lips before they’re dry and chapped, you may be able to stave off dryness. However, petroleum jelly isn’t all that effective at restoring moisture once it’s been lost. So basically you should make sure that you moisturise your lips well, then seal it in with Vaseline. Personally I won’t use anything with Vaseline in. Sadly I wouldn’t buy Charlotte Tilbury products, no matter if they’re good or not.😊
Idk if Aquaphor is like Vaseline, but it'll definitely be something that I will use before bedtime cause overnight I get very dry chapped lips. I'll use Chapstick brand most of the time, it's just not always available at Walmart tho so I bought Burt's Bees

I'm a massive fan of their stick balms (highly recommend it, like $6 or so at Ulta), and I like their other products too, so I think goat milk is an ingredient that I really get along with. Looking forward to seeing what holiday scents Laneige brings out this year.

So glad you mention the PC balm. No one talks about it and it is my fave. Has really plumped out my lips and when I wake up it’s still on my lips. Great for dry patches and dermatitis.

Within 2 days my lips were stinging and irritated.(;don’t ever have sensitive skin or lips ) I kept trying it , and had to throw out . I wrote Cay and they said it’s full of niacinimide. She stated maybe I was allergic to that ? ( doubt it because I’ve used on face for 4 years … needed to give you my research 😂😂
yes, the bite agave lip mask!!! Miss that one so much!!! Although it was so hard to squeeze out of the tube, specially during the winter season!! Definitely want to try the naturium one but every time I make an order, it's out of stock!! Also, if you like honey I suggest you try the Huda Beauty Silk balm honey kiss.

I was obsessed with the og bite lip balm and the ONLY dupe I have ever found is the lanolips all over golden salve (not the lip balms, the salve). It is incredible! I still have a little bit from my old bite tube and the consistency is identical. I like the naturium lip balm but it lacks the lanolin which is the star ingredient in the bite formula and isn’t as moisturizing imo

I have the road peptide lip treatment and salted caramel and it’s literally amazing my lips feel so plump and hydrated. I did have one issue with a grainy texture in the vanilla, but I haven’t had that issue with the unscented or the salted caramel. I actually looked up a RUclips video that if you warm the waxes up in the hot, hot hot water, then cooled him off in Coldwater slowly it’ll go back to normal and I did that and it went right back to how it was before, but apparently Haley said they addressed that concern she made a RUclips video about it.
If you could only buy one lip balm of all the ones you tried, which would it be? I know you mentioned the Bite Agave lip mask, but I was wondering if you had a recommendation for one that could currently be purchased.
Right now? #1 is the revision youthfull lip replenisher. It has peptides, vitamin c, antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, and it’s SO thick and sticky in the best way. It lasts for ages! And it has such a shiny finish, it doubles as a gloss. I wish they made a tinted version. #2 is the Laneige lip sleeping mask. I’ve used up at least 5 jars and it’s really effective for me. Makes my lips really soft.

So so appreciate you making this video!!!! For a honey balm, Rohto Mentholatum make one of their (excellent) spf lip balms in a Rich Honey scent. My ultimate favourite overnight balm is Nuxe Reve de Miel which has honey but a very light scent, but as you say sure if you’d like the thick, matte texture and finish? For truly fragrance free lanolin, I higggghly recommend the Lansinoh nipple balm. It’s truly so good and I find way more effective and pleasant than the Lanolips line ❤
Incredible video, thank you 😍😍😍 Have you tried the Nuxe Rêve de Miel lip balm? It has been a huge favorite of mine for at least 25 years (yup! 😆) It has a kind of pasty thick texture that will stay on your lips for hours, and it smells like citrus honey, it's so yummy. They extended the range quite a bit with a stick and a lip oil, but the original lip balm in a jar is the GOAT 🙌🙌🙌 Edit: Ooops sorry, I should have waited until I watched your video until the end 🙈 Yes I see what you mean. The texture is not for everybody, I can totally get that 😊

Hands-down my favourite lip balm ever is Bioderma Atoderm Lèvres. It saved me during my 8 month long Isotretinoin course and I have kept using it since. I buy one regularly, I'm never without it... 😎✌🏼💜💜💜💜
I’m telling everyone who lives in a cold climate. Malin + Goetz mojito lip moisturizer wirh fatty acid technology is the best of all lip balms for nourishment. Also colourpop lip treatment pots are actually so good but more for shine
I still cannot believe Bite decided to destroy their brand by going "clean vegan beauty edible realness" instead of sticking to what they were doing well. That Agave lip mask is by far the best lip product I've tried as well, it's right up there with Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eyeliners and Shiseido Minimalist Whipped Blush as my holy grail discontinuation victims.

I currently have the Farmacy lip smoothie, and I agree with everything you said. Smells nice, but is SO thin, and yes oily. Definitely nothing left on my lips when I wake up in the morning. I had the Fenty as well, and loved the thickness and smell of it, but agree too much product comes out, so inevitably you're wasting some with every use. (Unless you have very large lips, and mine arent tiny.) The performance wasn't anything out of the ordinary, my lips felt about the same as they usually do. So I don't think it dried them out. I also had the Revision lip mask, and I also loved how thick and sticky it was, but I ALMOST stopped reaching for it because of that intense peppermint smell. I mean Damn. It was strong. But because of how pricey it was, and due to the great ingredients I forced myself to use it up. And when I finished it I realized I missed it. Lol. I have the Sol de Janeiro right now. This is the 2nd time I've bought it. I do like the smell and how it feels on the lips, but do wish it was a little thicker of a consistency. I'm realizing I like pretty much everything you like in a lip mask. Including smell! 😊
I really appreciate your research. I bought a set of that Jack Black spf 25 balms and never use them--wish I had seen this and saved myself $. Going to try a few of your recommendations. My skin is super sensitive so I have to be very careful about fragrance also.
@@StateofKait the innisfree and the tarte one, and that’s only because i already have most of the ones you’ve mentioned up to the happikiss balm (which i also have). yes, i too, am a lip balm junkie and have been looking forward to this!
I think the Moon Balm is the thickest and creaminess balm that Hurraw has, and is probably what they mean? I suspect the Banana baobab one is too but can't imagine that flavour being good, and the winter, one but i think it's mint. Not sure about the ayurvedic ones or the ones in the squeezy tubes either. The rest you might find too thin.
yayyyy for laneige! too bad they discontinued the mint choco that was my favorite, I still keep 2 jars with me. if you don't like the artificial one maybe you will like laneige apple lime. the grapefruit smells like bubble gum and a bit too artificial for me
One thing I noticed looking at the composition of most lip balms, is that they have petroleum and its derivatives. I did some research on this, and I found that petroleum can create a false shiny and a hydrated looking lips, cause most of extracted natural oils used in this producte to sooth and regenerated the damaged lip skin are quite expensive. I'm not an expert in dermatology nor skin care products, but I do love looking at the formula of the product and see the role and the use of each and every ingredient.
100% agree that bite agave is simply the best. Ever since it was discontinued I have been looking for a replacement. Heard Auric is good (Samantha was also a big fan of bite agave) but disappointed that need to buy it from US… great video. Thank you!!
Fellow Bite Beauty lover here! I have one tube left😢 and I will say that even tho it’s really different, I actually love the Auric version. I recently ran out and I’ve been missing it so I will be repurchasing soon.
@@StateofKait great question! It’s definitely not a replacement for our beloved Bite. I think it lies directly in the middle between a thin/thick texture and it’s super smooth. In fact, I have to be careful not to put on too much otherwise it moves outside the lip lines. You know how you describe balms by how they feel when you rub your lips together? I’m pretty sure you would like this one in that way. A little goes a long way so even tho the spatula is super cute, it’s an extravagance for sure (but I did use it quite a bit bc it made me feel super bougie🤣). The packaging is super lux with a mirror and a glass jar so it’s not the one I would choose for traveling most of the time. I haven’t tried the new colors and I debated on it but I think I’ll go back to the original since I mostly used it during the day at home while working.

Thank you for this very in-depth video!!!! I have extremely dry, eczema prone skin and horrible lips, so I always am looking for something that's thick and long-lasting. Right now I am trying the Elizabeth Arden 8-hour lip protectant. ( I don't think it lasts 8 hours,) but it absolutely makes my lips look and feel healthier. I was obsessed with the og bite lip balm and the ONLY dupe I have ever found is the lanolips all over golden salve (not the lip balms, the salve). It is incredible! I still have a little bit from my old bite tube and the consistency is identical. I like the naturium lip balm but it lacks the lanolin which is the star ingredient in the bite formula and isn’t as moisturizing imo
I like it but doesn't have the stickiness and it smells a little sheep-y to me. But definitely the closest formula to OG Bite!

I have the road peptide lip treatment and salted caramel and it’s literally amazing my lips feel so plump and hydrated. I did have one issue with a grainy texture in the vanilla, but I haven’t had that issue with the unscented or the salted caramel. I actually looked up a RUclips video that if you warm the waxes up in the hot, hot hot water, then cooled him off in Coldwater slowly it’ll go back to normal and I did that and it went right back to how it was before, but apparently Haley said they addressed that concern she made a RUclips video about it.

If you could only buy one lip balm of all the ones you tried, which would it be? I know you mentioned the Bite Agave lip mask, but I was wondering if you had a recommendation for one that could currently be purchased.
Right now? #1 is the revision youthfull lip replenisher. It has peptides, vitamin c, antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, and it’s SO thick and sticky in the best way. It lasts for ages! And it has such a shiny finish, it doubles as a gloss. I wish they made a tinted version.
#2 is the Laneige lip sleeping mask. I’ve used up at least 5 jars and it’s really effective for me. Makes my lips really soft.

So so appreciate you making this video!!!! For a honey balm, Rohto Mentholatum make one of their (excellent) spf lip balms in a Rich Honey scent. My ultimate favourite overnight balm is Nuxe Reve de Miel which has honey but a very light scent, but as you say sure if you’d like the thick, matte texture and finish? For truly fragrance free lanolin, I higggghly recommend the Lansinoh nipple balm. It’s truly so good and I find way more effective and pleasant than the Lanolips line ❤

Have you tried the Nuxe Rêve de Miel lip balm? It has been a huge favorite of mine for at least 25 years (yup! 😆)
It has a kind of pasty thick texture that will stay on your lips for hours, and it smells like citrus honey, it's so yummy. They extended the range quite a bit with a stick and a lip oil, but the original lip balm in a jar is the GOAT 🙌🙌🙌

I still cannot believe Bite decided to destroy their brand by going "clean vegan beauty edible realness" instead of sticking to what they were doing well. That Agave lip mask is by far the best lip product I've tried as well, it's right up there with Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eyeliners and Shiseido Minimalist Whipped Blush as my holy grail discontinuation victims.

I currently have the Farmacy lip smoothie, and I agree with everything you said. Smells nice, but is SO thin, and yes oily. Definitely nothing left on my lips when I wake up in the morning.
I had the Fenty as well, and loved the thickness and smell of it, but agree too much product comes out, so inevitably you're wasting some with every use. (Unless you have very large lips, and mine arent tiny.) The performance wasn't anything out of the ordinary, my lips felt about the same as they usually do. So I don't think it dried them out. I also had the Revision lip mask, and I also loved how thick and sticky it was, but I ALMOST stopped reaching for it because of that intense peppermint smell. I mean Damn. It was strong. But because of how pricey it was, and due to the great ingredients I forced myself to use it up. And when I finished it I realized I missed it. Lol. I have the Sol de Janeiro right now. This is the 2nd time I've bought it. I do like the smell and how it feels on the lips, but do wish it was a little thicker of a consistency. I'm realizing I like pretty much everything you like in a lip mask. Including smell! 😊

I like straight up lanolin as a nighttime lip mask. Nothing works better, it's cheap, and you get a lot of it.
I really appreciate your research. I bought a set of that Jack Black spf 25 balms and never use them--wish I had seen this and saved myself $. Going to try a few of your recommendations. My skin is super sensitive so I have to be very careful about fragrance also.

I think the Moon Balm is the thickest and creaminess balm that Hurraw has, and is probably what they mean? I suspect the Banana baobab one is too but can't imagine that flavour being good, and the winter, one but i think it's mint. Not sure about the ayurvedic ones or the ones in the squeezy tubes either. The rest you might find too thin.

One thing I noticed looking at the composition of most lip balms, is that they have petroleum and its derivatives. I did some research on this, and I found that petroleum can create a false shiny and a hydrated looking lips, cause most of extracted natural oils used in this producte to sooth and regenerated the damaged lip skin are quite expensive. I'm not an expert in dermatology nor skin care products, but I do love looking at the formula of the product and see the role and the use of each and every ingredient.
100% agree that bite agave is simply the best. Ever since it was discontinued I have been looking for a replacement. Heard Auric is good (Samantha was also a big fan of bite agave) but disappointed that need to buy it from US… great video. Thank you!!

@@StateofKait great question! It’s definitely not a replacement for our beloved Bite. I think it lies directly in the middle between a thin/thick texture and it’s super smooth. In fact, I have to be careful not to put on too much otherwise it moves outside the lip lines. You know how you describe balms by how they feel when you rub your lips together? I’m pretty sure you would like this one in that way. A little goes a long way so even tho the spatula is super cute, it’s an extravagance for sure (but I did use it quite a bit bc it made me feel super bougie🤣). The packaging is super lux with a mirror and a glass jar so it’s not the one I would choose for traveling most of the time. I haven’t tried the new colors and I debated on it but I think I’ll go back to the original since I mostly used it during the day at home while working.

Thank you for this very in-depth video!!!! I have extremely dry, eczema prone skin and horrible lips, so I always am looking for something that's thick and long-lasting. Right now I am trying the Elizabeth Arden 8-hour lip protectant. ( I don't think it lasts 8 hours,) but it absolutely makes my lips look and feel healthier.
